Today's joy: Meeting my colleagues from Hong Kong for lunch at our canteen.
THIS!
Und einige von uns haben halt auch Post Covid / ME/CFS. Da ist man schon froh, wenn man es noch ein paar Tage die Woche ins BΓΌro schafft. Alles andere ist purer Luxus.
CALL YOUR SENATORS and tell them absolutely NO on the SAVE act, which is deliberately designed to keep married women, trans people, & anyone who's ever changed their name from voting. It's an evil and pointless bill. Kill it dead.
Screenshot of Sandy's comment on the Deccaclassics Instagram post: Oh. So you've now deleted the slide where you posted the wrong portrait for Fanny Hensel AND deleted all the critical comments, too? This is not the way to handle something like this.
These people are just beyond ridiculous. I've just left this comment:
JFC, these people.
I don't think I'll have to work another weekend this year. Perhaps in autumn? I don't know.
And the hours I put in on the weekend get added to my weekly working hours, and when I have enough overtime, I can definitely take a day off. Or two. :-)
The last time I was on call for the February shows, I also had to deal with several problem cases.
I seem to attract problem cases on weekends. Gah!
@growlycub.bsky.social @vidao.bsky.social Seriously. When my team leader was on call the weekend our February shows started, she merely had to change a company name and release two other changes for publication.
For some reason, whenever I'm on call on a weekend, I have to deal with problem cases... π© This weekend was no different.
"Bestest romantasy of the first quarter of the year" then. Obvs.
Iβve started sayin βHeβs wearing a wire!β when I see these glasses.
One man overheard and pulled them off. πππ
Dolly Parton is literally the only good billionaire and proof we don't just actively hate people with money simply for having it.
We hate you because you're all fucking monsters.

Oh my goodness, how beautiful are these earrings? πππ
The picture shows a needle made of bone, it resembles its modern descendants with an eye at one end and a tapered end.
Things used in everyday life are the real archaeological treasures!
This sewing needle was made from animal bone some 13,000 years ago.
Some designs simply don't need to be improved, because form and functions were perfectly matched from the start

You might recall this thread about a slop book scam website from last month.
Today I got a fake invitation to do a radio interview which claimed the station was in partnership with the very same slop website.
It's gorgeous!!! I just adore Luisa's art! π§‘
The βromance needs an HEAβ convo crops up every 5 minutes and Iβve been thinking about how I personally need optimistic endings in other genres too. I want the bad guys to pay, horrors to be vanquished. Bleak or ambiguous is real life. Give me fictional wins. (Writers do NOT have to cater to me.)
I really want to re-emphasise this point: Libraro wants to normalise paying for your work to be put before agents and publishers. If that is normalised, then the groups which will miss out the most are the ones who tend to already be marginalised in publishing.
Spanish PM Pedro SΓ‘nchez on Iran:
Womenβs rights must never be used as a pretext to launch wars that serve other interests.
If we truly believe in the freedom of Iranian women, the answer cannot be more violence.
It must be more diplomacy, more support, and more international law.
Merzβ answer: motioning βoofβ and laughing while Trump grins and hits his leg. Cowardice is off the charts.
Nearly 10 million people live in Tehran and while I'm sure an awful lot of them are no fans of their current government, I bet they hate being bombed even more
Sending everybody gentle hugs and cookies. π§‘
Happy pub-versary, Louise!!! π§‘
