Does my daughter need more magna tiles? No. Do we celebrate Easter? Also no. Did I still buy my daughter more magna tiles to put in her Easter basket as a partially selfish gift because I also want to play with them? Fuck yes!

One of the best parts about moving to Chicagoland is that my sister and I now can just take turns dog sitting when we go on vacation. We don’t have to worry about paying someone bc we try to keep it fairly equal and we know we can trust the sitter so it’s a win win.
Equally fun is when they said weird things that don’t really mean what they want. For example “Eleanor coffee” means my daughter wants a cup of milk in an espresso mug 😂
One of the fun things about parenting a 2 year old is the part where they know a ton of words but as their parent you’re one of the few that understands what they’re saying so when family visits it’s like you have a secret language between the two of you
The 2026 Barkley Marathons is over. There are no finishers. #BM100
Speed is not the solution to navigation problems - laz #BM100
This is the quality reporting I appreciate during #BM100
Here we go!!
Nothing says happy Monday like being unable to find one of your mittens (while the rest of your winter gear is still packed in boxes) as you’re late to catch your train. Doing the one mitten / one hand in pocket look today I guess.
We officially own a treadmill which means even though my husband insists he’s done marathoning for a while he’s inevitably going to register for one soon. Let’s hope it’s in a fun place!
Indoor rock climbing I
Indoor rock climbing II
Outdoor rock climbing I
Cross country skiing
Bowling
(There were also a few chemistry/math/physics classes sprinkled in there)
Also this week was insanely stressful at work + we had a puking toddler late in the week so we needed a pick me up
Spent our Saturday night rewatching the national championship because why not #IUFB
Forgot my book on my morning commute so I’m just scrolling more #IUFB content. Still in disbelief that this actually happened!!
A man and woman holding champagne flutes and smiling at each other
My husband even proposed at an #IUFB tailgate
A photo of a baby wearing Indiana university clothes, holding an Indiana football and with a red flag in the background
You could say I’ve been waiting a while for this #Hoosiers #IUFB
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOSIERS!!!!!!! #IUFB
Freaking out!!!!!!
Getting super nervous for tomorrow night #IUFB
Took the 2yo to get her first haircut and now she looks so much older 😭😭😭
Thrilled for IU but sad that Fred isn’t here to see this #IUFB
Why is solo parenting when I’m working and my daughter goes to daycare so much more exhausting than when we’re traveling and I’m with her 100% of the time? 😅 So glad my husband gets home tonight because I am TIRED
I don’t know if it’s cute or horrifying that one of my daughter’s favorite phrases is “mama coffee”
Why did Alabama get blown out by 31 points in the Rose Bowl? Because it became too woke.
Two women and a toddler wearing Indiana university gear and posing for a photo at the rose bowl football stadium. The field is visible in the background.
Best. New Years. Ever. #IUFB #RoseBowl #Hoosiers
I actually read a lot more books than just LOTR this year (partially in thanks to my new job changing my commute to train/shuttle) but I though it was funny I finished on NYE
My two goals for 2025 were:
1) find a new job
2) finally read all of LOTR
Started the new job in June and finally finished the appendices this afternoon so I’d say the year was a success!
Today turned into a 12 hour travel day but the toddler and I survived! Tons of IU fans everywhere but limited Alabama sightings so far #IUFB #Hoosiers #RoseBowl
Scary realization today: my toddler is closer in age to most high schoolers than I am.
Officially in my asking a frustrated toddler on repeat “do you want help or do you want to do it yourself?” era of parenting
