BBC headline: Paul Doyle pleads guilty to Liverpool parade crash that injured more than 130

He admits "causing grievous bodily harm with intent, affray, wounding with intent and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm", while "victims include two babies and six other children". But it's still a "crash" and not an "attack", because whiteness.

NHS 'to test trans young people for autism and ADHD' Trans young people will allegedly be 'screened' for autism and ADHD according to planned NHS guidance on youth gender clinics.

Hey, disability studies people. We need to talk about this: www.thepinknews.com/2025/04/28/n... - because we know where it's come from, right? You know that research behind this has come from people in our field, right?

I will try learning from X and engage in self-care. Please do not expect me to follow you back if you are antiPalestine, racist, ableist, homophobic, Islamophobic, and basically actively perpetuate all the 'isms'. I can't do 'we agree to disagree' stuff if you are attacking any liminal group.

I find it bleakly amusing when commentators remark on how β€œeven doctors” say people are overdiagnosed with mental illness etc. As if the medical profession hasn’t repeatedly been at the forefront of dismissing and gaslighting disabled patients, especially women. Wildly ignorant.

In my recollection voting for far right in Europe began when left and center parties gave up on public services and living standards and began to dismantle public services and welfare provisions as "unaffordable". Foreigners were depicted as a reason that things had become unaffordable.

The reality of claiming PIP: a 🧡

1) To claim PIP you have to describe in excruciating detail all the ways you cannot function. This means that you are forced to think in very detailed terms exactly how disabled you are, which often has a devastating effect on the mental health of the applicant 1/?

Some disabled people could lose Β£10k a year in benefits by end of decade Experts say planned cuts will deliver series of β€˜painful income shocks’ for many

Tens of thousands of people will be hit by β€œknock-on impact” of PIP cuts. Unpaid carers face losing carer’s allowance if their family member loses eligibility for disability benefits - a devastating double loss.

At the heart of every attack on disability benefits is the myth disabled people β€œget perks”: a free car, loads of cash, a life off work. It misrepresents the reality of disability, whilst exploiting low wages and high living costs to make the public envy people in daily pain.

Drastic cuts to PIP will affect as many as 1 million disabled and ill people, pushing them into severe hardship, worsening physical and mental health, and isolation. There is no credible argument for pulling help from people shouldering the high costs of disability. Cruelty dressed up as reform.

Apart from the fact "scientific" is really a euphemism for eugenicist here, the current (also eugenicist) reality of age assessments is that many people are wrongly assessed as *older* than they are, for entirely racist reasons. This is not about "science" or accuracy, it's about racist exclusion.

β€˜Working class’ does not stand in for white working class men. There are women, queers, transfolks and non-white communities in the category of working class. It’s a tendentious overreach to make the analytic signify white men.
