Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, weโll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate changeโall so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
Action Now to rid of this Monster, Kristi Noem.
When the U.S. Supreme Court said that you could detain people based on their race, their accent, or the language they spokeโฆ there is nothing to preclude ICE from doing that while youโre standing in line getting ready to cast a ballot.

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Yearโs Eve. And like Renรฉe Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.
I need yโall to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

Flashback post and yep, still our favorite.
"Many in El Paso have close ties to Fort Bliss...
On Saturday, area residents plan to hold a 'silent protest' at ICE offices near the Fort Bliss facility. Organizers ask demonstrators to wear black and hold signs that describe the conditions inside the camp..."

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."
The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.
WTF!!!!
I have some insight into this story about Nancy Pelosi's challenger @saikatforcongress.bsky.social.
About 17 years sgo I got to know Saikat through mutual friends. We hung out in the same bedrooms and apartments in Manhattan.

Reporter: Why was the national weather service not pinging their phones before 7.. Was it a fundamental failure of the federal governmentโs responsibility to keep us safe?
Noem: Trump is currently upgrading the technology in the national weather service..
Hold the floor Congressman Jefferies.. we are watching.
โItโs a weird time. Iโve still got to get to work on time, pay my bills, manage chronic illness, all that stuff, while the world in general seems to be falling apart. It can be a challenge to juggle those two things while making sure one of them doesn't completely destroy my mental health. Itโs just an odd thing to be like: โOh, all of these atrocities are being committed in Gaza with my tax dollars, but what am I going to eat for dinner?โ Or: โTrump just dismantled another check on his power. Weโre slowly sliding into fascism, nobodyโs stopping him-- but what concert should we go to this weekend?โ The strangest part about the whole thing is that weโve never been so connected. I could understand if this was eighty years ago; news travelled slowly. But now, in an instant, you get these facts, photos, videos. Verified by credible news, verified by aid organizationsโand nobody cares. Well, a lot of people care. But the people who can actually fix things: they donโt care. Instead of standing up for the voiceless, theyโd rather lay low, cling to their money or status. Itโs hard to be a person who cares right now. Sometimes you just want to melt into your bed or couch and be with your feelings. But I wonโt say that I feel hopeless. Iโd never say that, because thatโs what they wantโthose people who only care about winning, who donโt care about collateral damage. They want people to feel powerless. And Iโm not going to give them that luxury. There are still reasons to be hopeful. Zohran just won the primary. And thatโs a sign of change, in New York City at least. Even the people who donโt agree with his politics have to admit: his campaign was built on community. It wasnโt funded by billionaires. This was a campaign of fifty thousand people who volunteered, and canvassed, and made calls. Last week a lot of people who had been feeling powerless realized that they still have some power in this country. Letโs just hope a lot more people are learning from that.โ
This was posted this morning by Humans of New York and I think this captures exactly what we are all experiencing right now
He looks like an empty soul.
Thatโs exactly what this is about.
Distraction. For all of this and that lame duck, low energy spectacle
Every time I hear someone say, "Since the pandemic," I heave a sigh. Some days I hyperventilate.

BIG BEAUTIFUL BUST
Chaos for Trump and GOPโThe House Budget Committee blocks the GOP tax and spending bill from advancing in a 16โ21 vote. Republicans Clyde, Roy, Brecheen, Norman, and Smucker voted NO. An embarrassing setback for Johnson and Trump from their own party.
AOC: If anyone is breaking the law in this situation, itโs not members of Congress โ itโs DHS. Itโs people like Tom Homan and Secretary Kristi Noem. You lay a finger on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman or any of the Representatives that were thereโฆ weโre going to have a problem.
Please support if you can
In New York, ICE detained a busload of farmworkers that were actively involved in a union drive.
In Washington state, ICE dragged a farmworkersโ rights activist and leader out of his car to detain him.
Be warned: attacking unions is a hallmark of fascism.
See you in beautiful Portland..
