I must admit, I've been experiencing a surprising amount of FFXI nostalgia while running The Merchant's Tale with Largo's RDM. But maybe that's because I spend a lot of time Dualcast-Verraising people and it gives me Aht Urghan flashbacks.

Mariko Kazama as a dancer. She is dressed in the revealing top and loose, open-hipped pants typical of fantstical depictions of ancient Arabian life popularized in various books, movies, and other media. The top is dyed a bright green; the pants a subdued earthy brown; the metallic ornamentation a bright copper orange. Long dancer's gloves and Far-Eastern zori round out the ensemble. Specifically, the full dancer glamour is as follows: • Nue chakrams (undyed) • orange chrysanthemum corsage • story-spinner's chestwrap (apple green/sunset orange) • virtu dancer's armlets (sunset orange) • story-spinner's sarouel (raisin brown/sunset orange) • Faire zori (adamantoise green/orchard brown) • yellow moth orchid earring • orange byregotia choker • The Emperer's New bracelet and rings

I'm not going to enter into the Orientalism debate over The Merchant's Tale, other than to respectfully acknowledge its merit, but dangit, Mariko would absolutely wear this as a dancer, so now, she does, courtesy of Largo completing all 13 paths and donating the potsherds.

Keshkwa, a hunter from Tural, sits in a place as far away from home as he can get on a map — Mariko Kazama's apartment in Shirogane. He looks around at sights utterly foreign to him — the rice-paper walls, meditation gardens, bamboo plants, bonsai cherry trees, aquaria housing Far Eastern fish. He appears to be nervously awaiting something.

He calls out to someone unseen, in the tiny bedchamber in the corner of the apartment. "I never expected to be taken all the way to the Far East on this journey," he converses uneasily. "I appreciate this tour, and your apartment is amazing, but... What is it that made you want to come all this way?"

The bedchamber door slides open. Keshkwa gasps. Mariko stands just inside, leaning against the door frame, her hips thrust to one side in a playful pose. She is wearing the jerkin and boots that Keshkwa gave her when she agreed to take up training as a viper... but not the pants that went with them. "I just wanted to show you my home," Mariko intones with a voice like a soft caress on the face. "Somewhere nice and comfortable. So that I could introduce you to something special, without any other distractions."

She turns her body toward the door frame, holding onto it with her right hand as she lifts her left knee, and uses her left hand to raise the hem of the jerkin, revealing an apparently intentional absence of clothing underneath. "Tell me," she breathes at Keshkwa with a smirk, "are you familiar with the term, 'hump day'?"

Mariko thinks that she and Keshkwa have a lot to learn from each other. Her first lesson for him: that not every hunt ends with a kill.

Maybe I'll skip him straight to Dawntrail, since I basically never play over here anymore, but don't want to move him (the PvP is so much better here!) and don't want to delete him either.
Too many alts. 🤷

On the one hand, I don't want a map-changing feature to spell the doom of pose-related tools in the mod community, so anything that risks that outcome is bad.

On the other, I really want to be able to take Largo and Margot into that liminal space with Zenos so I can show "how it really ended".

And, oh yeah, duh, thanks to @eliara-wol.bsky.social for the prompts, and organizing the day 13 get-together, and being the catalyst for dragging a bunch of very cool Gposers, artists, and writers together around the idea of celebrating our beloved hyuran blorbos. ❤️

...and there we have it. The entire month of #Febhyurary2026 in the books. I had to post this last one early because I just don't feel like staying up until midnight again and I really wanted to get it out there. I'm surprised I never missed a day. It was really difficult, but rewarding.
