Thatβs it! Looks exactly like the Egyptian bean (hyacinth bean). Thank you, Steve!

Thanks. Similar but leaves are different.
It does look like a giant version of a sweet pea. It doesnβt look like any of the sweet peas Iβve grown. The leaves look similar to raspberries.
A vine with pink flowers growing next to a wooden fence
π± A friend gave me some seeds of this mystery vine. It looks gorgeous. He doesnβt remember where he got it. Any idea from the #garden folks what this is? Thanks! #PNW
Photo of a fruit stand with mangoes, durians and mangosteens. An old school electronic calculator rests on the fruits.
Iβm back from exploring Vietnam with the International Palm Society. It was an awesome adventure. π Regularly scheduled programming will resume on Monday. π±π§ͺπΎ #Botany
Mangoes, mangosteens and durian, what great abundance! Iβve heard the durian described as a fruit that tastes like heaven but smells like hell.
Thank you for your note. I started the rag in 2022 βdid not keep it up for a while but did not want to let go either. Redoing the site like I would a gardenβ¦I just finished weedingβ¦π
I did not think about our taste buds of youth and the uncluttered mind but I appreciate very much that insightπΉ
π± After a quiet stretch, Blooms & Greens is stirring back to life with a reflection on the gardens that stay with us after weβve left them. #gardening #pnw
These are really lovely!
I wrote about my childhood friend Alexi Pretti. Please read it and share it and remember him as a human being. @theverge.com
Several recyclable containers sit in a deep bank of snow. They are each filled with potting soil and planted with native plant seeds, including: butterfly weed, boneset, cardinal flower, several types of coneflowers, white wild indigo, bottle gentian, prairie dropseed and swamp milkweed
After weeks of planning, gathering, and waiting, winter sowing is finally underway
Let the cold stratification begin

Wow!
π±We got to the 50s today, no wind, a bright sunny day without a cloud in sight, a calm day contradicting the state of our parallel reality. The volunteer sweet peas are growing like thereβs no tomorrow. Arenβt you worried of a February blizzard? I quietly asked. I finally relocated them today.

According to a new study, members of Congressional leadership perform 47% better in stock market trades than their rank-and-file peers, thanks to access to nonpublic information.
Today would be a great day to ban ALL elected officials from trading stock, don't you think?

Beautiful morning for a bike ride.
What a beautiful tree!
Photo by Hiro Ohta with iPhone. A long path is covered in golden ginkgo leaves, stretching toward a soft vanishing point between two rows of tall trunks. Autumn light filters through dense yellow canopies, casting gentle warmth across the walkway. Occasional figures in the distance move through the scene, lending scale to the glowing corridor of trees.

SecDef throws a 34 year multi awarded admiral under the bus and hopes no one, no rank and file and officers noticed. This must be the warrior ethos he was talking so much about. When is he going to announced that he will need to spend more time with his families?

βthe Pentagonβs own manual on the laws of armed conflict also specifically cites striking survivors β¦ βOrders to fire upon the shipwrecked would be clearly illegal,β the manual says.
Pink flowers in bloom (cosmos) right next to a rosemary bush.
π± The cosmos was still flowering in early November. A gorgeous presence in the fall garden when most things are done. The Xzenia variety seems particularly floriferous.
Congratulations and best wishes on your wedding anniversary!
Oh yes, the thyme is a gorgeous cover but more stepables. One thing Im considering is the golden marjoram, lime green to yellow color and also highly aromatic.
Thats a good candidate, thank you.
Not familiar with lithodora but thatβs a nice blue. Probably not for this border because I need a bit of height here but I would like this as a border next to the raised beds. Thanks!
I might do that but hoping to find some perennials.
Thanks!
