Actually no. I think when he was drawing this, he was still doing it in his spare time, while working in a warehouse in Corby. But he will have visited it - it was a Mecca for artists and fans. And I bought three pages of his original art (which you will be reading soon) there.

That and the smooth jazz at the start seem to be the creators saying “ha! we made a good thing, now let’s have us some fun”

It’s worth pointing out that out that it’s not a starter set. It’s the full rules! And everything a young player needs to run a campaign 11 adventures. PLUS stuff to get a new player started, standees for characters and monsters. It’s a bloomin’ bargain.
