Findings in 3 lines:
1οΈβ£ Inequality rose: the poorest lost out (not due to Weberβs βProtestant ethicβ).
2οΈβ£ Mechanism: Catholic poor relief = universal; Protestant relief = generous but exclusionary.
3οΈβ£ Modest economic growth in Protestant areas couldnβt offset losses β poorer classes ended up worse off.
