Excellent.
Excellent.
Very nice!

Thank you! Sometimes, we manage to realize what we saw....
And their point is.....? (Oh.)
I would, but I slipped down the glass stairs and am now in traction.
Not that this is the only reason, either for me or for anyone else (and I speak only for myself, in any event). However, it certainly is one. When one set of paints suits your brush and your vision, there is no need to choose another. /6
Anyway, film shooters know all this. But for the occasional folks who happen onto these posts and wonder (as some do, because the question gets asked) why some people are "still" using film, I thought perhaps it might be useful to have an example. /5
I have this experience quite a lot - although one can certainly do excellent B+W in digital (and it is its own medium, with its own affordances), I often find it easier and more direct to realize my intent with film. I don't think this is especially unusual (though I do not claim universality). /4
When processing the digital images, I tried to get what I had in mind in post, but just could not make it work (despite many base shots, and reasonable editing effort). Meanwhile, my HP5/Rodinal combination came out almost exactly as envisioned, right from the inverted negative. /3
Case in point: when I took this image, I had both my Minox and my dSLR (well, and my Perkeo, because reasons), and I took shots of this littoral grove with each, with the goal of capturing the unique light and tonal character of the scene (as well as the geometry of the trees). /2
Superfluous side comment: this is, for me, one of those "why might one use film" images. There are, of course, many reasons. But one is that, in some cases, film gives me what I want much more easily than digital. /1

I know, right? If I could afford that, I could presumably afford the lifetime Windex subscription and the treatment for the inevitable injuries from falling, having it fall on me, etc. Something to which I can aspire!
Maybe - if you are splurging.
Cool, will take a look!
With T-Max P3200, you can party all night! (Or, until your budget is expended.)
With age comes might.
Oh dear. That doesn't seem like so long ago....
My home is sadly bereft of glass catwalks. Though one might debate their wisdom from either a cleaning or earthquake safety standpoint....
Congrats - glorious image!
