have you tried any of the specific genre calendars, Steve?

Iβm impressed! You must be very pleased. Now go get The Bends, scan it, and then youβll be really done!
Our younger selves still might not have listened. I think Iβd play Cargo Culte by Serge Gainsbourg to my younger self just to see how Iβd react.
I got a calendar called The Art of vinyl covers. Itβs got some youβll recognize but others you might not. It spans β50s to current and has a bit of everything. Hereβs an example.
I'm old school and have no issues with the proper way. Bill Callahan is under C, Smog is under S. When he did his album with Bonnie Prince Billy, I filed it with under C because he's listed first. I only have 500 records, so it isn't too complicated.
They come through DC pretty often. Iβll make it a point to get to them next time.
I have wanted to see them live but theyβre always here in the winter and I hate going to shows in the cold.
I like Giant Sandβs version of Red Right hand, too. I have to check this one out.
Theyβre an instrumental Afro-Soul big band with a retro flare.
#5debutalbums0509
1. Matt Sweeney & Bonnie Prince Billy - Superwolf (5 points)
2. The Budos Band - ST
3. Vampire Weekend - ST
4. Grinderman - ST
5. The Black Angels - Passover
That made me laugh.
Iβm listening to some truly shit Dylan covers under the title of Best Dylan covers. Iβm cringing.
I donβt think deadheads work. We do have marmalade but it isnβt popular. The singing in this discussion is secondary. I like Dylanβs voice, but it isnβt pretty. What he lacks in singing chops he makes up for in delivery. He breaths life into his characters, others just copy. I believe him.
Challenge you to listen to Jerryβs Senor side by side to Dylans. Itβs better. Themβs version of Itβs All over nowβ¦ is pretty great.
Itβs pure pop but itβs catchy throughout.
Far and away my top dream concert.
Iβve got my coffee. Iβm sitting back and enjoying the show. Garcia is the only one who knew how to sing Dylan better than Dylan.
Whoa, donβt get carried away! I loooove Dylan. There are only a few Id say that top his original. 1) Hendrix- All Along the Watchtower 2) Garcia - Senor (Tales of Yankee Power 3) Ferry - Hard Rain.
Thatβs the right pick!
I love that Bryan Ferry cover. I might even go so far as to say I prefer it to the original.
I vote sacrilege, but I love that you took a stand for what you believe.
I think it just earned more than a squeak vote from me. Really polished, smart, and fun for a debut.
Iβm listening to Vampire Weekend now.
I donβt know the back story. I donβt hate it, I just donβt have the passion for it that everyone else seems to!
Great! Have fun tonight.
Yes, itβs a lot harder! Thereβs so much more research involved.
We have the exact same top 2. Didnβt think anyone else would have Fela.
Iβve been busy and not listening to much from this era. Iβll just pick some from what I own if you donβt give me something great to listen to. Listening to the Black Angels now.
So whats the top 10?
