This puts me at 10 people released. I filed my 1st habeas petition 29 days ago. I am an incredibly small-time, nobody lawyer who knew nothing about immigration law the day I submitted that case. I barely know any more today. I had never sued the federal government and now I've beaten them 10 times.

Or calling him "Angel" - that had almost been worse, especially when he no longer was one and knew Falling was a one-way trip. It hadn't been until Crowley had unconsciously said "I love you, Spider" that Audax had been willing to even entertain the idea, let alone believe it.

striking photo of a black and white tuxedo cat. The entire photo is almost entirely a velvety black except a curving line of white fur and the cat's gold eye which are illuminated by a sliver of sunbeam.

Audax tilts his head so that his cheek rests against Crowley's. He literally can't remember not loving Crowley - that was how he came into existence. But over time, he's relearned why. A lot of it has to do with how kind Crowley is, in spite of his own protests.

"And vice versa," he adds as he throws the trash away. "Thanks for trusting that I'm not just trying to use you for virtue-signaling or whatever. It doesn't even have to be all that cold for hypothermia to kill you, and I just can't let you sleep on the street tonight."

"Could probably use a worktable, too," he adds, sketching a location along one wall with his hands. "Obviously I couldn't do hot work in here. Probably wouldn't even want to do proper stonecutting without a way to control the dust, but waxwork..."

'Spider grandmother many times now,' Charlie tells him once her footing is stable. 'Small spiders tell spider-stories. Spiders come, spiders go, stories stay. Young spider learn, old spider teach.'
"That is the way of things, isn't it?" Audax murmurs, looking at the bookshelves around him.

Leonardo da Vinciβs sketch of Aziraphale and Crowley (currently in Aziraphaleβs possession).
Ombra e Luce, Shadow and Light, symbolising Aziraphale and Crowley themselves. The whole piece is stylised like a period-appropriate wedding portrait painting.

Charlie doesn't seem to take notice. 'Spider only spider-old. Snake and Big Spider old like trees. Old like rocks!' she explains. 'Many-tens grandmothers ago, tell about big trees being tiny like grass. Rocks there. No grow, no move. Just there."

The room doesn't have much of anything in it, besides a filing cabinet and a few dusty items of patio furniture. "Now that I expect to be here full-time, I can move those back to the balcony," Aziraphale says, gesturing at them.
"Decent-size room," Crowley says thoughtfully. "Need a desk, to start."

"Charlotte in full, remember? You named her," Audax says with a teasing smile.
"...I did, didn't I," Crowley says, dredging the memory up from that first day. "You were smaller then, weren't you?"

'Spiders love Snake too,' pipes up the spokespider. 'Even when Snake mean to Big Spider.' Crowley winces. He's still ashamed of his behavior those first few weeks, when he'd taken his grief for Aziraphale out on Audax regularly as if it was somehow his fault for losing his memories.

Uploading Pirated Books via BitTorrent Qualifies as Fair Use, Meta Argues * TorrentFreak
In an ongoing lawsuit, Meta now argues that uploading pirated books to strangers via BitTorrent qualifies as fair use.
In 2013 Aaron Swartz committed suicide for facing 35 years in prison for mass downloading scientific articles.
13 years later, Meta is almost getting away with an infraction orders of magnitude larger.
The law didn't change.

I resigned from OpenAl. I care deeply about the Robotics team and the work we built together.
This wasn't an easy call. Al has an important role in national security. But surveillance of Americans without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization are lines that deserved more deliberation than they got. This was about principle, not people. I have deep respect for Sam and the team, and I'm proud of what we built together.

Whenever I say we should return to 1940-1980 tax levels for the super wealthy (billionaires) of 91%+ marginal tax I hear, "If you do that, billionaires will leave the USA."
To which I say:
1. Promise? Because it didn't happen last time.
2. Don't threaten me with a good time.

"'Course I'm scared," Crowley says with a half-smile. Audax is far too direct for the sort of intricate emotional dancing he and Aziraphale used to do around each other, and though he hates to admit it, in some ways it's a relief. "Hastur's bloody powerful and he fucking hates me."
