The work didn't get done, and now people think it's worth only 29.99$ instead of like $200 which is what I quoted originally.

I'm not generally against AI tools, but this is ridiculous.

It finally happened, I offered my expertise to someone who had a need for a tech artist and...

Sent them a reasonable quote for the issue they wanted to fix and got hit with: "looks great but we're gonna try this AI tool for 29.99$/month that supposedly will do what we need."

Me: trick detection system for the excavator rotations (tracks flips, rolls and 360s) and adding some animated text UI for it.

This little tool I made for Maya is finally done! Speeds up the workflow to quickly create low poly assets (or at least that's the idea!)

The 50k vert apple is a photo scanned model, down to 1k, definitely usable in game.

Added a pop up UI for destruction, text is animated, moves up and fades out. The game is taking shape!

A little tip I learned when setting this up, you can create a widget every time the animation is played, then remove it when the animation is done.

Figured out how to build using a grid in runtime in Unreal. Was originally thinking about using it for some procedural generation, but might end up as a level editor tool.
