Local areas are creating ‘non-mainstream school places’ but think they are creating ‘specialist provision placements’.
It’s not going to end well.
Have 30 minutes on my twitter profile. You are preaching to the choir. The SEND children are always the primary stakeholder and for people to think otherwise is a bit weird.
It’s ok for something that’s broken to remain broken for a while. Most stakeholders can keep going in a broken system as long as they don’t have to fight to prove it anymore.
The speed of the ‘fix’ is not more important than the quality of it.
