I hope this helped you :) we miss both our babies but know that we gave them everything they ever needed.

Ryan no longer looked for PeeWee after his walks- he really knew that he was gone but seemed ok with that and was his usual happy self. Ryan then went on to live another 6 years. That was how we handled the situation per consult with the Vet.

Ryan was so sweet and laid down next to PeeWee and when he took his last breath I remember that Ryan sniffed him and then laid down next to him again. It was beautiful and healing for all of us- me Ryan and his Dad.

Peewee lived his best life for 18 more months. When we came to the decision to put him down we had a vet come to the house to euthanize him. The Vet suggested that we let Ryan be there for closure and understanding.

He and Ryan became best friends and did everything together. Since aryan was more active than PeeWee, he would get longer walks. Ryan would always run into the apt and first thing he would do was to go and find PeeWee and they would greet each other and PeeWee would chase or follow Ryan everywhere.

Vet removed most of PeeWee’s teeth and 2 weeks of antibiotics and he was resurrected. We had to feed him soft food because he could no longer chew. We cooked for PeeWee delicious and nutritious food everyday and he thrived.

I saw this and thought “ok maybe I can help” I had 2 Dachshunds- PeeWee we found on the street was maybe like 13-15 yrs old and in bad shape (rotten teeth with infection). Ryan we had from the time he was a puppy and was 10 years old at the time.

I am so sorry. The bond we form with these babies is profound and unique. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Moose is a soul mate he needs you as much as you need him. The bond we have with our dogs runs so deep. Good luck and all is good you’ve got Moose!
