Great opportunity to give evidence about ways to secure high-quality #RE to the House of Commons Education Select Committee on behalf of the #RECouncil today. @deborahweston.bsky.social
Good to catch up with @lundieeducation.bsky.social and hear his evidence about media literacy too.

A great report on the challenges facing religious education by @itvnews.bsky.social, featuring interviews with students about why the subject is so important to them #RENationalPlan #TeamRE #RETeacher #Worldviews

I am so glad you are seeing these tributes Roy. There is so much love, respect and appreciation being expressed for our wonderful friend and your partner, Dawn. β€οΈ
I am holding you and Dawn in my prayers and hoping that you are being cared for too.
Thank you for letting us know Roy at this really worrying time. Please send her lots of love.
The guy in the background seems seriously impressed!
Thank you Jasmine. For the record, my question was, "What do you think might be the advantages and disadvantages of including Religious Education in the National Curriculum, if we are trying to resolve the post-code lottery for provision and standards right now?"
Just 10 days to go before NATREβs IN PERSON annual conference. Iβm really looking forward to leading a session with Jemma Brown for the first time. Bookings close on Friday, so book today if you can! www.natre.org.uk/courses-even...
@ollyre.bsky.social We need to give @karenza.bsky.social credit for so selflessly boosting your position in the REHubs business card sweepstake! ππ₯°π
I reckon if you put me and @deborahweston.bsky.social in a room together for 24 hours and then came to let us out, weβd still be sat there nattering!
You know that feeling is mutual. Did you notice how we all instinctively endorsed each othersβ messages today? Fantastic sense of unity.
Had a wonderful day with more than 80 teachers with the bonus of catching up with @missdcox.bsky.social @karenza.bsky.social Sue Holmes and Marilyn Cowling. #REsisterhood
This is absolutely true - no doubt about it!π
Great opportunity for free CPD on Monday 9th December 4-5:30pm for ECTs (all phases) and secondary TWOs. Join me!
Please ask your MP why @educationgovuk withdrew subject knowledge enhancement grants for RE when 27% of religious education 2024/5 recruits secured a place on condition of that grant? RE missed the target by 22% so surely no grant means fewer recruits? @NATREupdate @bphillipsonMP
Each year I get the data that would allow me to do this calculation. November for provisional data and February for revised.
I wonder how I could crunch the data to explore this question more closely? Ideas?
Aww thank you Dawn. Will send recipe to you. Credit to grandchildren for the blackberry picking β€οΈ
Great advice for the @teamlabouruk.bsky.social government on #religiouseducation and #teacherrecruitment from @re-mcgee.bsky.social from @natre-update.bsky.social on BBC Radio this morning. 07:45 into this link www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... #teamre
Yes but I donβt think this explains the stat. Firstly, only 20% secondaries have a rel character & according to research by the Sutton Trust admit fewer disadvantaged pupils on average than all schools -but there are differences between type of Rel Char school. Need to do some more filtering #TeamRE
My favourite narrow boat location has to be the Llangollen canal
Iβve done that for a few of my family lines: Conistone and the Yorkshire Dales, Sheffield - Hollis Croft, Whitechapel/Bethnal Green and Markinch in Scotland. Imagine moving to Whitechapel from the Dales for work!? Such a shock!
I find it interesting that when you investigate your genealogy, you often find you have an emotional connection through the stories of your ancestors, even when youβve never met them. What about you?
