This! It took me over 45 years of reading books until I felt comfortable DNF-ing one I wasn't enjoying, and I'm so annoyed I didn't start sooner
Hot take: donβt hate-read books. One wild and precious life, and you want to spend it mad? DNF and go find something you like.
Oh, do romance readers read too much? Of the wrong kind of books, you say? In the wrong kind of language, you say? Are they too easy, too sexy, too fun, too silly? And weβre pretending this is not The argument that people have made against romance since (checks library) 1785?
After I'd gone back inside, I heard the six-year-old neighbor yell gleefully at the top of her lungs, "Oh my god IT'S A TURTLE" Gotta love that kind of positive turtle energy π
There was a turtle at my front door today! I assume he was canvassing for his favorite political candidates but he ran away before I could ask π’
3 airports near me & when there's an air show & the planes are practicing their maneuvers it sounds like an invasion. What's weird is this usually causes chatter on FB & Nextdoor but there's nothing. They'll talk about lost pets & HOAs forever but fighter jets on a quiet Saturday morning? Crickets π
Heard fighter jets earlier this morning over suburban north Orlando, not sure what to make of it since there's no air show this weekend. We sometimes hear & see the Blue Angels practicing but it definitely wasn't that. A single plane zooming over in 2 separate instances about an hour apart.
Yay! I hope you like it!
Loved Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson! Cozy mystery with found family vibes and a slow-burn romance, mixed with a dash of self-discovery. Love this author's voice, she writes with such a great blend of snark and sincerity! #BookSky ππ app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/4bfb...
Oh my gosh, my sister did the same thing to Mickey Rooney! She was in the flag corps and doing a choreographed routine at the grand opening of a Disney World resort. He was standing way too close to the action but he was fine
In 1981 when I was 8, I was the subject of a kidnapping hoax. Some guy called my mom at home, he knew my name and he claimed to have kidnapped me but I was actually safe at school. The police never did figure out who did it.
Underworld, Book 3 in the Mousebane & Red Mist series by C.J. Powell is out now. Really loved the first two books, and I am sorely tempted to re-up my KU subscription just for this one! #BookSky ππ www.bookbub.com/books/underw...
I will! I ended up returning it because I knew I wouldn't finish in time, but I've got it on hold so hopefully I can pick it up again soon

You read some really good books this month! π
Beautiful pink hibiscus in full bloom in the bright morning sunlight, picture taken in Central Florida maybe around 2017
Kind of a gray day today both inside and out, sharing this old picture of a beautiful hibiscus from my dad's front garden to lighten things up a little π±πΊ #BloomScrolling #Gardening #FlowerFeed #Flowers

My February 2026 reading activity from Storygraph. Not enough reading time this month! Book title include First and Forever by Lynn Painter; George Falls Through Time by Ryan Collette; The Grumpiest Millionaire by Pippa Grant; Hunter's Treasure by Olivia Jackson, and A Little Buzzed by Alys Murray.
It was a slow reading month for me, life very rudely got in the way. π #BookSky ππ
The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive
Everything seems awful and chaotic and powerless, so I am left to do what I can only do: share some beauty with the world. I have no wise words or platitudes, but I do have a camera and empathy. A shot from my first global geomagnetic storm (2024) π

The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow! I just started it but I have to read fast, it's a library borrow and there's someone next in line. :(
Yes, this! Libby and hoopla are such wonderful apps, if you have access to them through your library they are free and fantastic and you should be using them to get some digital books! ππ
I have always loved going to my local library but Libby and hoopla kept me sane when I couldn't get to there to check out physical books (due to caregiving duties, illness, income issues, etc.). Both of those apps, and the library system in general, are such godsends! β₯οΈ
It was so tempting to call out sick today and just stay in bed reading. I didn't though, and I *really* think I should get some extra adulting points for that. #BookSky ππ
I thought I knew what I was getting with A Little Buzzed by Alys Murray (high spice, some workplace relationship drama, eventually an HEA) but I was surprised & pleased by the level of emotional depth in this layered romance. 4.5 stars! #BookSky ππ app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/75ba...
Me too, I just started it!
I can smell this picture π₯°
