Moreso, the hypocrisy that triggers me the most is that for russia to murder Ukrainians on a daily basis is considered ok, a new norm. But for Ukraine to get the capacity to defend itself and strike back is feared as a route to "escalation". This is BATSHIT CRAZY.

Good morning! ππΊ from a Ukrainian in Illinoisβ¦ when I wake up like this early, I grab my phone from the dresser and check the news about Ukraine βcas I have family there. Then, hearing gβmornings from so many people is a good reason to feel great not sleeping at 6am on a Sunday morningππ
Text with a quote from Duke Ellington saying βOh man I got a million dreams, thatβs all I do is dreamβ and an interviewer responding βI thought you played pianoβ to which Duke says, βNo, this is not piano. This is dreaming.β Quote featured in a Jon Batiste track.
I think about this quote from Duke Ellington at least once a day, and it appears in the opening pages of my dissertation. I love it because itβs so easy to forget the love for science in between all the pipetting, but at the end of the day, science, art, musicβitβs all dreaming. π§ͺ

This reminds me of Ukraine- my home country β¦ lots of sunflower fields , but all far away now
The most important thing in writing is to finish. A finished thing can be fixed. A finished thing can be published. A finished thing can be made into a movie.
An unfinished thing is just a dream. And dreams fade if you don't hold on tight enough.
So finish the thing.
