Thanks, I'm glad you like it. 🙂 Initial colors were more orange/brown, but as I progress I've decided I need something more saturated to be the main tone.
I'll post the process.

Thanks, the concept wasn't planned like most of the personal pieces, but once it clicked I've tried my best to capture that movie like feel.
I miss the days when I've had much more time for personal experiments.

I think that this harsh black background (probably transparent which bluesky didn't handle properly) is hurting the presentation, because those single black pixels between outlines are sticking out too much and distracting the viewer.

🔊 Do you consider that sound is enough to tell the story in this tiny intro? I wanted to do something simple to welcome the player.
Also, should I make this skippable, or these are bearable 23s?

I think that people get used to tools they use over time, regardless of the tools themselves. Brain just finds the way to bind different motions to desired outcomes.

It's the same with shortcuts on keyboard, if someone mess up even some basic things, you will start to struggle.

Based on which factor is camera moving? Sometimes main content is on the edge of the screen, but then in some moments when it's spread out enough it decides to move.
Is it some average x position of two characters?

A crow is standing on the boxy head of the mech, which is also bursting with a white flower bush. An old korrigan (Britton elf?), who is roughly the size of the crow, is chilling on the shoulder of the mech. in the cockpit, three little korrigans are playing. On the ground, from right to left : 2 little korrigans are drawing children drawing on the mech, standing on the root of the tree the robot is resting on. One is sleeping in the driver helmet, while 2 others are scheming to wake them up using big nails as hammers on the helmet. A lil korrigan with a big net is trying to catch a lullaby. Two korrigans are offering a group of snails a safe travel amongst the mayhem. One is looking at small mushrooms on a root covered by moss. Another is trying to pull a red small mushroom from the ground. Under the robot, two korrigans are trying to pull what appears to be a radioactive battery out of a small pond of water. Two korrigans are using one of the doors of the cockpit as a swing. One of them is looking slightly up, seemingly surprised. One is hopping out of the canon of the mech, looking into the same direction. Another one is playing with rocks along the river, also looking surprised. On the tree, a small dragon that mostly looks like a lizard with wings and a long neck is climbing. A korrigan is climbing after it, trying to catch it. And the last korrigan is sitting on one of the roots of the tree, looking at the dragon too. In the distance, in a hole on the tree, a grumpy owl is looking at the spectacle.

Palette knife and acrylics on paper. Very fun experience, I need to repeat. ☺️
