I am an enigma wrapped in a shroud of mystery, blazing my way through this life. I am a plant lover and work at my local garden center. I am an avid tree hugger, rock lover and nature is my church. #secularhomeshool #photography #writing #art

Alone time is very important for self care, especially if you're with your child 24/7. The beauty of homeschool is that you don't have to wake your kid at the buttcrack of dawn! I usually get up a couple hours or so earlier than my child to get some quiet time. It helps a lot!
I like that! We have so many polyhedrals and I am looking for different ways to use them, specifically for math. I'm trying to come up with some creative way to use D&D creatively for lessons. I myself need to learn how to Dm as I've only ever been a player-many many many moons ago!
I am looking for some fun and creative ways to use the polyhedral dice we have for our #secularhomeschool Besides the obvious D&D (I am also looking to connect with others to get some D&D going for some fun lessons!) Drop your selections below!
Now playing...Saturday at the Met is something I look forward to all week during the winter. www.wqxr.org

Yeah it would be smaller-radioactive dust particles! SMH
Awesome! We are kind of a hybrid home/unschooling. If you are interested in connecting with others in your state, I made a whole list yesterday of homeschool group tags for each state that you can find on my profile and use that tag and share it.
I went and made separate hashtags yesterday on my post of all 50 states, for people to tag their posts from each state so that they can start connecting that way. I'm #newyorkhomeschool group. All my tags are formatted that way with the state and then homeschoolgroup after. I hope this helps!
NOOOOOOOOO I do NOT think we have an educated or empathetic leader, AT ALL!!!! I posted that earlier! That Cheeto makes me CRINGE
What DO you know about homeschooling? Do you know the homeschool laws in your state? What makes you come to the conclusions that you have about homeschooling? Have you personally known homeschoolers? And if so, how many? I'm genuinely curious.
Also, on the other side of this coin, I agree with you about that there should be laws in place and some states, (definitely not NY where I am) are very lenient about their homeschool laws. There within lies the problems child abuse slips through the cracks. We are not all like that!
When people see judgmental posts like this about homeschooling, it puts us others in a negative light that other people who know nothing about homeschooling will tend to believe or side with, since they have no knowledge of what homeschooling entails. I'm just trying to educate against the hate!
I have been homeschooling my youngest since she was 3. I saw how the public school system let down her 3 older sibs . She socializes better than me, who is a product of public schooling and bullying that went along with it, and can hold an intelligent convo with anyone-young or old!
Homeschoolers get all of the above mentioned. We have testing that we are required to do to prove our children are learning. The public schools are just passing kids on that do not read well and that's scary! My 11 year old knows some things that her older peers don't and should!
It's just that people are so quick to judge homeschoolers. I get the concern for the children, I do, but for the most part, that is a small percentage of people that are abusive. I am trying to spread the awareness of that so people will not be so judgmental. We homeschoolers work hard!
I've always thought that they SHOULD!
I'm not in VA but I will say, please #educateyourselfbeforeyouspreadhate and stop lumping all of us homeschool families in such a negative context. We are not all the same and there are laws in states that homeschoolers have to abide by. I live in one of the strictest states #newyorkhomeschoolgroup
First of all, we need to have an educated and empathetic leader of our country. Secondly, why do people give a shit what other parents do with their kids when it comes to their education? Not all of us homeschoolers are religious zealots!

thank you so much! I love being able to learn from other gardeners! People like my boss have forgotten more than I will ever learn!

NIIICE! I have a lemon tree that I grew from seed, I planted it 2 years ago in a pot on my Dad's 75th birthday, June 15th, and it sprouted July 17th. I started working at my local garden center last year and LOVE IT! It's the perfect job for me and I can't wait to return for this season!
Starfish cactus smell like death, I could only imagine what a corpse flower would smell like.
I searched my photos for orange flowers, and this pic of mine from 2018 was the first that popped up, a male monarch that I raised on a goldenrod that I released him on. Enjoy!๐
NIIIIIICE!!!!!!!!! I'm going to follow you just to see the progress, and learn a thing or two because I would like to grow a plant or two myself, now that it's legal to!!!
