Oh gosh, thank you! I think we can credit space at least a little here, being beautiful just comes naturally for it

I know her! Seriously though, I got the chance to do some sensitivity reading for Shannon a few years ago and absolutely fell in love with this universe she'd written.
Also? I made this cover! π
Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed
At every turn, Rough Magic has shown me that I'm in the right place, with the right people. I'm a little sad because C2E2 is where I met all these folks for the first time in person, but more so I'm excited for what's to come π
This. 100% this. Your appreciation helps push back the negative thoughts that like to creep in and say everything we do is trash and nobody likes it or us
Same. It feels too hard to hope but that would be amazing. I look forward to the day when I'm just going about my business and the messages from half a dozen apps start pouring in.

In the kids club I help run, they really wanted to meet a dragon, but the last chance to do it was a situation like this. Big dragon, little room. So we turned it tragic: young dragon kept as a guard animal, got trapped as it grew too large for the door. They used a portal to free him π
fun fact: you canβt spell βpaintingβ without βpain,β but thatβs super arbitrary and you can totally paint for joy too. duh.
I mean, true, but we could use a win. Like, more bad stuff happening to the people who caused / perpetuated last year's horrors
The more I see, the more it looks like 2026 told 2025 to hold its beer.
Awful upon awful, the depths of evil on display are bottomless
Oh hey, that's me! I'm going to be at Polar Vortex on Friday & Sunday running my Tarot RPG and helping out with the booth π©΅

Signal! Boosting! Anyone know someone who does this?
I've been told I'm a bard, a druid, or a wizard. This test seems to think I'm too introverted for bard and too nerdy for druid?
Wizard it is!

One week, the notetaker wasn't able to play and the rest of the party got into all kinds of inane nonsense because nobody could focus. "Yohg would have kept us in line," commented our himbo zombie as he stole his hands back from a retired pirate (plus a few extra bones from the bone jar) π
hey remember when a bunch of middle-aged drunk korean lawmakers climbed the locked gates to the national assembly to hold an emergency session after the president gave illegal orders to the military, all of which ended with said president being sentenced to prison
Child: I am stealing your feet, just like I stole R's π Now I have 6 feet
Me: Awesome. Now will you please just walk over to your room and get changed?
Child (slowly scooting): I must slide there, because of all these feet.
Me: WHAT?? You've got 6 feet, so walk like an insect. Go. Goooooooooo π©
And I helped! π
screenshot of a post on facebook from Alex Lamoreaux, depicting two versions of the "same" photograph of a bobcat in front of a pine plantation, one labeled original game cam photo, one labeling AI processed the markings have been altered on the AI photo, and the head changed and resized text says: Oh! A neat goose hybrid posted to βWhatβs this Bird?β but when you zoom in on the photos the bill details have been too manipulated by AI photo editing to be accurately assessed for which species may be involved. Scroll onβ¦ A cool-looking Red-tailed Hawk that someone is wondering which subspecies it might be - right up my alley! But when you zoom in on the photos literally every feather group has been so heavily manipulated and altered by AI editing that itβs impossible to determine subspecies because the photo is essentially fake now; just a mashup of whatever AI thinks parts of a Red-tail should look like. Scroll onβ¦ WOW! Thatβs a remarkable trail cam photo of a Bobcat! It almost looks like a painting!β¦ but the head looks oddly smallβ¦. hmmmm. After some prodding the original photo is produced and sure enough it had been so heavily altered by AI βpost processingβ that the photo posted was essentially a digital mock-up with totally different proportions and fur markings. No longer the photo off the trail cam; it may as well have just been βcreatedβ by AI from scratch. This stuff is killing me. My days on social media are becoming very limited. We canβt even trust simple, everyday photos of animals to be real. The wildlife community needs to quit editing with AI, and we need to start calling out photographers that are using it. Our reality is being destroyed all around us.
this field biologist does a great job highlighting the insidiousness of AI editing
these one-click AI edit buttons are incredibly appealing to many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, and are framed as innocuous
this is worth sharing and educating people about
Listening/watching now and it's a great convo.
Highlights so far:
- players becoming more confident outside the game because of being able to explore tough topics in-game
- links to resources
- really interesting modifications to safety tools
