I'm headed to Pax East for the first time this year. I'll be running games for the Alexandria RPG Library. Anyone got recs for other things to see or do there?

Hi! I'm going to be running some games with Alexandria RPG Library at PaxEast, but I should have time to do more. I'm a designer with a couple small games out. Feel free to DM me!
I've never been this far in working on a game and still not sure if I want it to be a, "roll skills to do things" kind of RPG or something else.
They kind of have a bit where one of their hosts doesn't enjoy solo RPGs but is very polite about it anyway. Only I don't think it's a bit. Makes a nice change of pace from other review podcasts.
1 Player Podcast did a fun review of one of my games, but if you follow me you've probably already heard a review of my games. So here's a link to an episode they did about a different game! They review all kinds of 1 player games, including RPGs and boardgames.

Chao's art packs are an incredible resource for anyone who wants to publish a game.
I concur with this sentiment.
RIFTS is a great education in how you can have mechanical complexity without meaningful tactical choice. The ultimate lesson is that if the balance can be so unoptimized, then it can probably also be optimized to yield more choice with less complexity.

You know what they say, a good book will take you to another world!
So far, Fluxxer is doing everything Discord does, so I'm pretty happy with it.
This is The Dragon and the George by Gordon R. Dickson.

I'm trying out Fluxer as a Discord alternative. I just made the first TTRPG platform on the server. I have no idea how it will go but there's only one way to find out. Come join me if you'd like!

So far it feels extremely similar to Discord, in a good way.
Thinking about some mechanics, playing around with some dice:

Sometimes, but not always! These days I also have a short list of adventures I've run often that I know I'll be able to run well at a convention, even if I'm under pressure from a tough group or convention chaos.
Once again, Tiny Tabletop is looking for people to vote on what RPG they play next! Some cool options on the list like Deathcap Saute from @junkfoodgames.bsky.social!

Volunteer for a cause. It's easier to have a good time when the goal isn't just having fun.
I saw a Boston Kreme at a Dunkin two weeks ago. Are they really gone?
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Which means roses are moving away from us
Whereas violets are approaching.
(Paraphrasing an original by @superdracula.bsky.social a very long time ago on Twitter that I think about every year.)

It's by a professional educator, and from that perspective.
Check out Nagalisitu or The Spared and the Spoiled by RPPR! The first is about rebuilding a fantasy culture, the second is a bitter satire about the US education system. Both would fit the bill!
The Bloggies Nominees are here!
We are 1 week away from voting, so I need everyone's help spreading the word. Congrats to all the nominees and blogs submittedβthis last year was incredible. Forming the lists was equal parts rewarding and painful.

Four days in, and 53 nominated Bloggies posts have already been read and recorded by wonderful authors and volunteers, then published on the We Read The Bloggies podcast.
Truly incredible!
Now that's a good sentry! With ears like that he'll definitely hear danger approaching in time.
