A student just said to me, "improv is frustrating. I feel like I'm a tiny child at a piano just banging at ghosts."

I wanted to give him a hug, because that's exactly how I felt when I started too.

I'm considering keeping my upcoming music off Spotify. Would that affect if you listened to my music or not?

We don’t. The techniques you use consistently are the ones you end up memorizing. I’m looking up rules and double checking concepts I don’t use frequently. It’s ok to refresh your knowledge. #musictheory #composers

Practice feel unproductive? Here's 4 strategies
