Had a joyous (and surprisingly moving) time at this. Rare to be offered this kind of opportunity to look back and celebrate. So, so lucky to have had @reproutopia.bsky.social there to reflect with me, so sharp and so insightful and so interesting and so effortlessly charismatic!
Im confident im gonna land on my feet but its pretty stressful. If you were planning to buy or pre-order my book anyway, if you do it through my Bookshop affiliate link below I get a few bucks now. Everything helps!

Oh, and the political economy of pronatalism, via Silicon Valley investment in the reproductive bioeconomy.
I think it will be recorded!
It's about bronatalism, post-natural sex, reproductive futurism, fathering vs. mothering (in a more-than-gendered sense), transhumanist transphobia and the portfolio approach to baby-making.

I've written to my MP about this, and you should too.
Thank you so much for saying that! I'm very fond of that chapter; it's quite different from the rest of the book in some ways, but I think it gets to the crux of why a post-work perspective is so important.
Oh wow, hope you enjoyed!

Fun post from my PhD student Stefan Darling on the gender politics of resisting reproductive labour in the reality TV show 'Mums on Strike'
Some of my essays on post-work domesticities, newly collected and translated into Spanish!
I often think about Simondonβs point that the notion of βjobsβ in the sense of social roles distorts our understanding of βworkβ in the sense of what is actually done in industry. I think itβs probably going to be useful for thinking about the social effects of the coming wave of AI deployment.
