At lunchtime I bought a huge orange. The size of it made us all laugh. I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave, they got quarters and I had a half. And that orange, it made me so happy, as ordinary things often do. Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park. This is peace and contentment. It’s new. The rest of the day was quite easy. I did all the jobs on my list, and enjoyed them and had some time over. I love you. I’m glad I exist.

I tried to remember this poem but only could come up with impressions of how it made me feel. Eventually I remembered part of it was about sharing a large fruit with coworkers — so glad I could track it down with my feeble google search.

Anecdotally: I have flown two trips recently, and there was a marked increase in masking between the first flight (a month ago) and the last flight (a couple days ago). A month ago we were the only masked ones on our entire flight. On Friday, we weren’t even the only masked ones in our *row*.

I was never overwhelmed by mess when my kid was younger —those messes were never vast and always pretty easy to clean up— but now that he’s 5 and into arts and crafts…send help 😭😭😭 So many scraps of paper 😭😭😭 so many drawing implements 😭😭😭 so much glue stick stickiness 😭😭😭
