Wrinkled orange file folder with the words ‘Quirky Miscellaneous’ written on it found while doing archival appraisal.
This may be a new all-time favourite folder name. 📜
There are so many ways to collect anecdotal feedback on archives class sessions for youth: connections made, trust built, etc. A new tier of feedback for me is a student drawing you and at the end showing you along with their full page of notes 🥹 📜

I'm currently looking for a model with an adjustable camera stand, lights, and book cradle. 😊
Hi GLAMS & Skybrarian friends,
We're looking for advice on "photo table" / "Camera stand table" setups so that we can photograph fragile books.
Do any folks know guides or have recommendations?
Thanks! 😊

Our Head of Education Programs Catherine Person has a background in Mediterranean archaeology and classical studies—so what does she find relevant to those interests in the APS's collections? A fair amount, actually! Read this week's blog for more: www.amphilsoc.org/news/finding...
We have a fundraising event!

"They stopped creating new maps in 1961 + stopped issuing “paster” updates to their old 🗺️ in 1977. That same yr, the co’s prez... donated 45 atlases... to the LoC. This is where the 2nd act of the Sanborn maps’ lives began" for gov't assessments, urban historians, demographers, genealogists...
Thank you! 🙂
Hello @vfo.bsky.social ! We're just a local historical society in NJ that would very much like to be added to your GLAM feed (📜). We consist of two historic houses, a museum collection, an archive & library, & our dedicated & enthusiastic volunteers. Posts on BlueSky are by the PTE archivist. 🙂

Do you work on exhibitions in Special Collections as part of your job? Would you have any interest in joining my Spring class via Zoom, or pre-recorded with me to tell them a little bit about what that's like, and show off some photos of your exhibitions? Large or small, we ❤️ them all! ~30min visit
That's Haddonfield, New Jersey, BTW. Not Haddonfield, Illinois.
Although screenwriter & producer Debra Hill was an alumn of Haddonfield Memorial High School (class of '68).
Why the different handle here? (HaddonfieldHistory, not HSH1914?) Chiefly because it matches the @haddonfieldhistory.org part of our email addresses & character limits aren't as tight as they were in the early days of Twitter.
First BlueSky post by HaddonfieldHistory (the user formerly known as HSH1914 on the Bird Site & Glammr.US -- & the Historical Society of Haddonfield elsewhere). Finding our feet. Please excuse any mess!
