I planted this bare root in January. Itβs growing very slowly, but has got loads of buds that seem almost ready to burst! Hoping to train it along the top of a Cornish hedge.

We have a steam railway that runs along the edge of the field in front of our house. The daily excitement of seeing the trains is sometimes too much for me!
Agreed! Though having spent 10 years working in central London primary schools it becomes second nature. TFL staff are brilliant with school groups too.
So it seems. Natalie Cassidy was on R2 earlier and was complaining that the cast canβt watch the episode until this evening for this very reason!
On 22 January, GB News presenter Josh Howie repeated a homophobic slur linking the LGBTQ+ community to paedophilia. This is offensive, wrong and unlawful. Join me and @GoodLawProject to file a complaint to Ofcom  action.goodlawproject.org/ofcom-stop-g...
Thatβs pretty much my Sunday sermon!
What the actual?!
Thank you Charlie Bell for this. The Church of England - more specifically the House of Bishops - once again kicking LGBTQ+ Anglicans into the long grass viamedia.news/2025/01/21/s...
Cornwallβs annual gift to the world! (80% of all daffs sold are grown here)!
Itβs brilliant and made me nostalgic for the 4 years I lived and worked in Teesside!
Dark brown spaniel, laying on his side and cuddling a soft toy.
This was last week at my feet as I worked⦠one breathing cuddly companion cuddling his teddy that came with him when we adopted him!
Iβve got a freezer full of turkey and gammon! Need to get on to the recipes!
Someone saw fit to criticise the service on the βChurch Typosβ FB groupβ¦ I had to roll up my sleeves and get stuck in!
It was a very special event indeed. Thank you @jayhulmepoet.bsky.social for your part in that.
Today we pray for those who lost their lives in the Penlee Lifeboat disaster of December 19, 1981. The Solomon Browne, went to the aid of the Union Star. In heavy seas, both vessels were lost with all hands. 16 people died, including the 8 volunteer lifeboatmen.
Six home-made Christmas cakes. Decorated with red and green - and one with Paddington bear decorations.
The cakes are ready. All iced and good to go! Need some guests to arrive so we can cut into them!
It really was a great occasion.
Well that was well tested!

Very familiar with these and the funny little box that receives and broadcasts the recordings in this house!
So young!
Without my reading specs on he looked like a Christmas pudding!
Church full of people and decorated with Christmas trees.
A Christmas tree with gold and white decorations in the foreground. Church full of people in the background.
A counter showing 215 people in church.
Itβs brilliant. As are the 65 others! Our opening schools concert is so popular weβve had to split it over 2 nights this year.
Today is mostly about the Christmas tree festival! This gonk is my absolute favourite. Credit to our wonderful local florist.
Aha. We got the garden centre to bring their chainsaw with them and the delivery of 66 trees! They were wonderful at shaving bits off to get them in the stands!
It was one of the things that I was holding onto the other place forβ¦ but it just wasnβt worth the exposure to all the other hatred and negativity the algorithm threw in my direction!
Iβve been the only communicant in a line whose name has not been used. That felt like βyouβre. It one of usβ!
Do you play? That is the most wonderful thing to have in the house. Though I donβt envy the tuning costs!
This has been my go to recipe ever since Nigella Christmas was published. Always made in October though!
