Cookie’s a little girl
she may walk off
with the whole world
the main obstacle to getting Splat’s Adventure (fake title) finished is that i keep thinking of mechanics or systems and then going “i could better explore this in a smaller project dedicated these ideas”
oh my god the MUMMIES. they give you about half a second to process MUMMIES IS REAL AND THEY WANT TO KILL COOKIE AND THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN DO
the minecart ride had my violently guffawing at my screen, alone, in my apartment
i already had Cookie’s Bustle on my to-do list this year, however the recent news got me to light it up…
it is absolutely wonderful
it's an extremely funny analogy of miyamoto's prerogative at nintendo that their competitors were getting increasingly kinky, while he was trying very hard to make vanilla sex more interesting
whenever i see someone call a piece of art solipsistic as a criticism that’s supposed to justify itself i have to fold my arms and shake my head
"Pokemon Black and White is deep and the story is good because I can map the concepts referenced to taoism"

the children are not “optional” to Kiryu. the whole point. is the tension.
just learned that the orphanage stories in Yakuza Kiwami 3 were shuffled into side content… lol
quote with your current game rotation (extremely chudded lineup lol)
emulating stuff on non-PC hardware is better, but i still feel some distance from the work. i probably would have enjoyed those games i emulated on my Vita a whole lot more if i just played the original on original hardware, as stupid and arbitrary as i can see that that is!
i really wish i could enjoy emulation!! it’s cool and good!! it would be neat to enjoy exactly what i’m feeling at any given moment without having to obtain physical copies!! but i know if i did emulate those games the experience would feel empty and detached…
the way that i see people channel surfing through video games via The Everything Machine makes me. very sad. it makes me feel alien.
something about removing the work from its context and instead placing it alongside EVERY OTHER VIDEO GAME TO EVER EXIST AND ALSO TWITTER AND YOUTUBE AND FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE AND SCREENRANT AND ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD AND WATCHCARTOONONLINE AND PORNHUB AND WINDOWS 11 UPDATE NOTIFICATIONS AND
don’t know if i really qualify as The Younger Generation (24), and i must preface and say that emulation is great for those who are able to partake, but i’ve always just been antsy about playing video games on my computer. it’s… too convenient?
i’m not necessarily a devout listener, i pop in every now and then because i think he is Interesting if nothing else. this new video though makes some very strange claims about video games and authorial intent and hardware and it made me frown big style
hate to get online and complain about a YouTuber, yet here i am; that new Nerrel video is absolutely atrocious. incredible achievement
i love Final Fantasy (1987)’s empty chests at the end of long hallways guarded by strong monsters… i wish more games in general had dead ends. so many ways they could be conceptualized.
thinking… Devil Survivor (i know, i’m sorry) fails to evoke space in part because the tactics mechanics are simply nonexistent. duh i guess forcing the player to consider and engage in the physicality of the map. engages the player in the verisimilitude of the space who would have thought
wtf Metal Gear Acid rips
I think some people saw the zero tolerance "I don't want to see you playing this" boycotts for Hogwarts Legacy and got the idea that you should be pushy over any media where the creator is stupid, and not just in situations where supporting the product causes quantifiable harm
seriously though, Metal Gear Solid 4 IS on many levels “about” the PlayStation 3, the console hardware “arms race” of that era, and how the game’s creator felt like an aging relic called in to “save” the platform by exploiting its technology to questionable ends.
AAA Gaming ☹️
i’m the most ethical medias consumer no one can out-consume me
like. i get it. i get it i get it. the 2010’s edgy dudebro online gamer chud-lite affectations don’t do much for me (outside of Isaac 😌) but… y’know…
woah erm. this “Mew-genics” game sounds… well, let’s just say that it brings to mind some NOT cozy vibes
