I hear theyβre calling it the βDepartment of War Crimesβ now.

I traveled down to visit @pspindloe.bsky.social for coffee this morning and heard about the cuts. Thanks for trying your best for your community to make efforts to transportation equity in the community for those that choose to walk or roll.
Come hang out at the beach with the kids and check out our newest park improvements. #Chemainus #NorthCowichan
Can we please stop making complicated large vehicles while we are at it. I love all the small domestic and Japanese cars of the early 80s.
Small + Electric = Safer for pedestrians/cyclists, less road impact, less resources required to build, more affordable.
( for if & when you must drive)
I was there two weeks ago and that was when I first found out about it, this is great news but I can't see Danielle Smith not interfering.
Winning DJT ... he's amazing π€¦ββοΈπ
Thank heavens for my family that lives in Olds. I'll be heading back there again at the end of the month and will have to see what the coffee shop conversation and local perspective is.
It is really important right now for those of us in the car-free or car-lite freedom or electrified homes or owning EVs to be very mindful that decades of motonormativity, urban sprawl as well as the economic divide in society from unchecked capitalism & now a war is crushing some of our residentsππ°
Two years ago we celebrated Indigenous leadership leading to the creation of new conservancies in Clayoquot Sound. It gave me hope that the BC gov might respect & support at least some Nations seeking to protect lands & waters from industrial threats. It was a false hope. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
of course it did, cuz the fuel in the storage tanks are magically connected to the stock exchange and WTI trading desks.
I have had zero app notifications for about four years now. I really like all of Brendanβs writing and this was a good one to share from his weekly work.ππΌ
COVID was a massive bummer for the whole world, but we had some moments.
It's amazing people will claim "Canada and the USA have the same culture" and then on something as fundamental as "do you trust your fellow citizens to be good" we are further apart than any other two countries
"The hard thing with a phone is that you canβt just get rid of itβor at least I canβt, at this point in my life. So I have to figure out a way to moderate it. Which I honestly kind of hate. But maybe this is a little bit of progress."

Also....it is on facebook and well we know how that goes. Not the most healthy of environments there.
The lack of understanding of the Hulqu'minum Treaty Group is shocking and the fact that this is Quw'utsun Traditional Territory is common knowledge. Douglas never followed through with the treaty and the steamrolling of Indigenous Rights needs to come full circle to be properly addressed.
I feel your pain Lucy.π We had the same issue here after a by-election mid way through this term changed the balance of council and our Zero Carbon EL4 Step code was cut back down to level 2. An unfortunate turn of events for the environmentπ

I dislike AI so very much, as usual the UnitedStates is taking advances in capitalism driven ventures to advance the war machine.
Multi tasking level up π
War in the Middle East is a good time to remember that we could just β¦ not do all of this.
Well done Rebecca, it is a path I enjoy following although not as strict as yours when it comes to food ingredients.
Those are great accessory bags in the photos, dig the color combo with the white bike and tan wall wheels.

When we have the opportunity and means to protect natural areas at any level of government, it is so important to make that happen.
I have stated this countless times at the council table. I've changed my decision when I realized I was wrong when learning more & getting better information from staff. I think the # 1 rule after getting elected is not getting polarized or entrenched in what you think is "right". #bcpoli #localgovt
Tell B-Corp as well.
Sorry Jon, the United States is attacking a country and collatorally killing innocent people, what do you expect them to do. Making jokes helps and humour can be good medicine but in this case the Tyrant that is the USA must be held accountable, no jokes please.
In light of Sim saying that he said Orr dealt drugs based on seeing a mystery photo from a mystery person, I think itβs important to reflag this.
If this is an uncharitable interpretation, the mayor is free to provide more details of how he ended up seeing such a photo and believing it.
