Cartoon titled "know the work rules".

The first panel, labeled "appropriate" depicts Garfield the cat in a business suit leaning around the edge of a cubicle and pointing to a woman at her desk while saying, "coffee lasagna Mondays am I right?" to which the woman responds, hands clasped together, "awww you're so funny"

The second panel, labeled "inappropriate", depicts a far side cow leaning around the edge of the same cubicle and speaking with a word bubble which contains only the shapes of the 4 cow tools. The woman fearfully picks up the
Phone and says, "hello , complaint department??!"

…we knew that preventing precancerous lesions would unquestionably lead to preventing cancers.

But we had to wait, impatiently, for years for the results of that study to come in, because cancers most often take years to develop after an exposure to a causal agentβ€”in this case, HPV.

writing the code was never the primary job of the software engineer

Complexity management was the job. code was merely the medium

complexity management remains the job

and uh

guess what happens to complexity in a world where code spins off a loom faster than ever before

In that piece I shared above, I actually strongly disagree with the frame "AI's greatest strength is removing friction" (altho I understand why it's framed that way). I am seeing many many people across my very unique intersection here voluntarily taking on LOADS more friction

An NYT Spelling Bee game grid, bearing the letters I, N, A, C, H, B, and (in the center) L. The user has spelled the word β€œchilblain” which is a term for a type of skin inflammation. The game interface displays β€œNot in word list,” meaning that the user’s input does not count.

My takeaways from Bad Bunny nobody asked for

1. the inclusion of afro-Latinidad
2. the use of kids AS kids. they weren't doing much but vibing (said positively).
3. I think there are a lot of easter eggs that require repeat viewing
4. everyone looked like they were having so much fun

Oh friends, it’s like this right now.

This week alone, I have had SIX of the most brilliant people I know separately botch meetings/emails/other work stuff. For almost all of them, it’s the first major mistake I’ve ever seen them make?

I hope we can give ourselves grace in things large & small.

That makes sense. What outputs I've got so far are inconsistent. The Lilith Fair playlist is πŸ”₯ and canonically about what you'd expect. But while I was able to get a version of feminist+music+people-with-guitars to go through, the playlist is... uh... well tbh I am not sure what I'm looking at here:

I found the same behavior. It also choked on a few longer ones like β€œfeminist music from recent decades” and β€œfeminist music by people with guitars. β€œFeminist throwback to Lilith Fair era” went through once but not twice.

It’s not so much that Trump & co don’t think slavery was important, they want to remove this history precisely *because* of how important it was. They don’t want people to learn about slavery because then people would understand how it continues to shape the landscape of inequality in America today.
