It's new book day!

Fire Sword and Sea by Vanessa Riley
I'm spending this freezing cold day as a pirate in the Caribbean. ππ
Oh, nice!
I'm going to eat my way through the winter storm snacks before the storm even gets here π³π¬
Lost Stars by Claudia Gray
I'm still in the mood for Star Wars. I'm halfway through Lost Stars by Claudia Gray, and it's fantastic. πππͺ
I've added a sticky link to my site that leads to all of the weekly horror fiction & any tempting monster/darkish romances releasing each week in 2026. I'll post a new one each week if you'd like to keep up with what's new. Recent issues are here

I'm tired of YouTube videos that say "I watched 20 booktube videos and these are the best books/series/whatever and instead of giving credit to the videos they scrubbed, they fill their description with affiliate links.
It's been long enough since I've immersed myself into #StarWars. It's like childbirth. I eventually forget the pain! I bought a Star Wars puzzle today to try to appease myself for a little bit before heading back into suffering.
Another Adrian Tchaikovsky release for 2026, and it's a graphic novel!! β¬οΈ
If your not on @barksbooks.bsky.social Horror blogger directory, be sure to reach out and add yourself there, too!
I supose at this point people knows, but if you are publishing SFF/H during this 2026 and would like to be covered on Jamreads, don't be shy of contacting me (either here, form or e-mail). Publishers, authors and publicists, feel free!
Can't guarantee I will, but hey, always happy to check.

Next Wednesday! Donβt miss it!

You left off 6 stars! Absolutely kidding. I'm so glad you got to read it! π
Little Earthquakes
This year's wrapped for me. Still. After all these years
Awesome!
Did anyone figure out how to get all of the ornaments back into the box you were storing them in??
Absolutely. It's great some people have all the time in the world to eat chocolate or go to the beach or read or whatever, but some people may have to make time a priority. Oooh, spreadsheet!! Lol.
I spent a lot of time editing this one. I hope it shows. I feel like I've learned so much in the past year. It has been a fun outlet.

I was just noticing people setting reading goals. I'm like, really? Should I set chocolate eating goals and going to the beach goals, too? Weird, imo. I mean, whatever, but I don't set goals for my recreational activities.
This was a reply to my post that started with "people are so bitter this time of year". I mean, thank you for proving me right, but a going to the beach goal sounds nice, doesn't it? ποΈ
I still haven't read her other books, but I plan to! I will definitely be reading the sequel when it's released.

I'm trying to be better about finishing series this year.
Reminder to my fellow web managers to update the year in your sites' copyright footers if it doesn't do so automatically!
Happy new year, Petrik! I'm looking forward to Isako later this year.
People are so bitter this time of year. Yes, people can actually read a lot of books in one year. Popular books aren't bad. Buying books isn't evil. Reading goals aren't performative. Your reading preferences aren't the "right" way to read. You don't have to read deeply. Just read. β€οΈππ
If any #horrorwriters have a release coming out in January, let me know and Iβll be happy to add you to my new weekly new release post on my blog.
