This weekend has gone by entirely too fast. Yesterday was garbled static and today was a blur.

I feel sick
“Draw porn to get followers!”
“No, draw softcore goonerbait!”
“No, draw only your OCs!”
“No, draw only popular anime!”
You will hear this same advice from people with 10 followers as people with 100k followers. None of it is a guarantee. The only guaranteed way to grow as an artist is to make art.
Every artist who has “made it big” did so because they posted often and they posted the right things and also they got lucky, and that last one is so important. “Technically more skilled” artists might have smaller audiences because of random chance. Or they don’t post what’s popular.
And like… if your goal is to get lots of followers and likes and retweets and to sell prints, that’s not a problem! It just needs to be communicated that that is your goal, if you’re going to get mad at artists for giving you general advice for asking general questions.
The reason artists say “draw what you like and keep practicing” instead of “scroll the front page of danbooru and draw whatever is popular at the time” is because you will burn yourself out drawing every golden bikini week/maid day/new gacha character with jiggle physics.
Every time there’s a discussion of “no, here’s how you /actually/ grow as an artist!” There’s infighting because people don’t clarify whether their goal is to create interesting characters and stories people are engaged with, or if their goal is to sell mi/ho/yo/verse merch.
I’m tired of being tired.
He’s got a pallet of parts that take 9 minutes each, he has 20 of them, even factoring in time to swap parts, he should have been done around lunch time. It’s an hour and a half after lunch. Can you guess why I’m “imperative” today?
I don’t raise my voice or yell, I think he was defensive because he is always trying to put the blame on others when he fucks up, does not take responsibility for his mistakes, and takes as much time as he can with each part.
Of tolerance for at least three parts now, you didn’t say anything to me, you’re giving me attitude instead of telling me when there’s actual problems, the QC guy is out today so I have to do his job on top of mine, nothing works, and my cat just died. But when I call you out, I need to calm down?
Coworker raising his voice with me, telling me to calm down and that I’m “so imperative today!”, sorry man I’m tired of dealing with your shit, it’s been 45 minutes since lunch and you’ve only made one part, you checked it incorrectly, it takes less than two minutes to run each part, it’s been out-
He’s over the rainbow bridge now. We will miss you Louis.

A white and gray cat wearing a silly caterpillar outfit.
We are having to make the tough decision to let Louis go… he’s been the most perfect baby boy, but his health took a dramatic turn for the worse over the last week. Friday will be our last day with him. He is the best lil man.
It’s funny how the same is true for drawing! You notice all the little issues when you look at it the day after posting. It’s why people flip the canvas, to break the image on the screen from the image in your mind and “see it fresh”.
Gotta let it sit for a bit to see the issues.
Would be so awesome if my doctor was on time for my appointments with her. Especially when I’m in the middle of [GARBLED STATIC].
Last few days I can consciously feel the MP100 % meter tick up at every little stress.
Louis has been not doing so hot and has been on and off getting better and worse. He seems better today at least…
Woodworking has been really good for getting rid of restless energy. I used up most of my scrap wood over the last weekend, so I can finally clean up a bunch… I want to go back to drawing more though.
Check out this desk I built from plywood and 2x4’s.
Had a dream that the lady car from the first Cars movie was murdered and Lightning McQueen was torn up about it. She was killed by a weird human looking guy who didn’t have ears, who swore he’d kill every car. Also, the Martians from the war of the worlds were there, and shrek had to stop them.
Yeah, it’s rough when everyone’s schedules suddenly change, so getting plans to work out becomes next to impossible. I’ve had more campaigns fizzle from scheduling than anything else, tbh, though a few have fizzled from inter-personal issues. The true bbeg is scheduling.
It’s similar when one or two players just aren’t paying attention or aren’t invested at all in the game, and you have these weird moments where a player asks another player something in-character and someone goes. “Oh, what did you ask me? Sorry I wasn’t paying attention” which just sucks.
It sucks making plans and having someone bail at the last second or just not make an effort to actually adhere to them, it’s another when that one person not being available makes everyone else’s time worse.
When it’s collaborative storytelling through roleplay, someone being a no-show means the story gets interrupted, and the GM’s plans involving that character could be derailed. Important background NPC for that character was supposed to show up? Oh well!
With dnd/ttrpgs it’s especially bad because like… if you plan a board game night with 4 friends, and one can’t make it last minute, you could still play board games. With ttrpgs, you have to make the choice to have that character be present or not, or just not run.
I added it to ublock's block element thing lol
I want you to know that it took thinking about this post a half hour later to realize “Artful Bed” was perhaps a piece of furniture in the game, and not something akin to The Devious Couch or The Sinister Recliner, and that ACNH players were just uniformly laying cozy in bed playing their switch.
Old men don’t want to be told the answer they just want to be told they’re right. Tired of arguing with old folks at my work… ugh.
Whenever I use voice-lookup in my car it seems to just pick at random lol. I like AM for the reasons you listed but man does it make it hard to just find the music I have sometimes.
A wooden cabinet with shelves over it. The wood is dark, and the cabinet has a single handle.
Made a shelf cabinet for my kitchen because we are running out of space on the counters. It might have cost as much in materials as just buying a cheap ikea one, but it was a nice experience making it from scratch. Woodworking is nice.
