Invasive alien species are a top driver of global nature loss. Yet whenever it's an animal, a segment of people fanatically resists their control.

They believe it's okay to sacrifice whole native ecosystems, with 1,000s of interconnected species, rather than tackle the problem.

They're very wrong.

Denmark Just Switched to Red Streetlights to Solve an Urban Crisis Most Modern Cities Still Ignore Drivers in Denmark are facing a surreal sight as a primary corridor is suddenly bathed in an intense, unearthly red light.

Wow. Deliberately bat-friendly street lights - Denmark does β€œPlanning and Infrastructure” way better than we do. dailygalaxy.com/2026/03/denm...

Starmer has spent his whole time in government ignoring public opinion and getting everything wrong.

If he’d had the common sense to take note of public opinion he’d have got everything right. Trust the people? He ignores us. He’s about to pay a heavy price.

I wasn't intending to turn this into a thread, but it seems to have happened anyway.
It's about the great plague on our lives: the extreme wealth of a tiny number of people.
And what to do about it.

How much more evidence do we need? The ultra-rich and the governments supporting them will destroy everything for the sake of profit, power and pride. Nothing is precious to them - not human life, not the living world - except their own wealth and status. Our survival depends on resisting them.

At the root of all our problems stands one travesty: politicians’ surrender to the super-rich | George Monbiot There are many excuses for failing to tax the ultra-wealthy. The truth is that governments don’t tackle the problem because they don’t want to, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

It is THE fundamental problem. To survive and prosper we must make billionaires history. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Heating oil just went from Β£325 to Β£858 for 500 litres! God bless America and its sick little friend Israel!

Cost of living’s going to go stratospheric. Starmer’s pal, mobster Donald, has put the cherry on the cake of his premiership. A catastrophe from beginning to end.

Labour's core voters, on which its re-election entirely depends, are crystal clear about this: they absolutely hate its illiberal, intolerant, draconian, rightwards turn. Hence the total collapse in support. So how does the government respond? #SuicideMissionπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Just a reminder it’s been two days since reports came out, later acknowledged by Trump and his Administration, that Russia has been helping Iran to try and kill US military personnel.

And the Trump response so far has been...drum roll please...to reduce sanctions on Russia!

What do you make of this? Is it an old nest of Yellow-legged (Asian) Hornet? It's very roughly 30 cm across, 15-20 m above the ground. Good view through binoculars, definitely looked like a wasp/hornet nest. Cambridgeshire.

What is white phosphorus? Weapon Israel is accused of using β€˜unlawfully’ in Lebanon

Human Rights Watch says Israel is deploying white phosphorus over civilian homes in Lebanon.

The chemical substance is highly dangerous, capable of setting buildings ablaze and causing severe, life-threatening burns to human flesh.

This is a war crime.

This is the cloud of oil currently hovering over Tehran, released when the US bombed the city's oil depots. A stew of particulate matter, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, heavy metals & volatile organic compounds is raining down into the city right now. 1/2

As the US/Israel attack on Iran is likely to tip the UK into recession, let's not forget that Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves are trashing our rivers, ecosystems, communities, health and resilience for the sake of economic growth. But, as they are now discovering, it's not something they can control.

An illegal war by USA & Israel, propped up by missions from UK air bases.

Supported by Nigel Farage.

Over 1000 civilians dead & now the threat of global economic fallout. Trump's disaster makes us all less safe, less secure - and we will remember those who backed it.

Massive humiliation for Farage, who tipped off the UK press that he was flying to Florida to have dinner with Trump... only for Trump to decide he had more interesting things to do when Nigel arrived.
