It's a chance to test out ideas, think things through and add a bit of serendipity to the week.
I've been working with digital and museums for nearly 20 years. I love to chat about strategy, transition design, research and trends, facilitation practice, running a business, and being a trustee.
A poster saying UnOffice Hours, A free 30 minute chat with Alyson, Laura or Lindsey
I have a deep belief that one of the key ways of addressing the chaos is to listen and connect more.
So, I’ve started blocking out 30 minutes every other week along with the rest of the @franklygreenwebb.com team to talk with people I know and those I don’t.
One last post before I rest for the weekend. Truly a bit overwhelmed to receive this review from a writer who I respect so much. Thanks @lucywebster.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...
Dual screening between Springwatch and these two vile cretins tearing each other apart on social media is a rollercoaster.

ALA response to White House assault on IMLS To dismiss the mission of an agency that advances opportunity and learning is to dismiss the aspirations and everyday needs of millions of Americans. And those who will feel that loss most keenly live in rural communities. As seedbeds of literacy and innovation, our nation’s 125,000 public, school, academic and special libraries deserve more, not less support. Libraries translate 0.003% of the federal budget into programs and services used by more than 1.2 billion people every year. Show Up for Our Libraries, ALA American Library Association, #ForOurLibraries
President Trump's executive order to eliminate the Institute of Museum & Library Services would have disastrous effects for communities nationwide. We call on all Americans who value reading & learning to reach out to their elected leaders.

Are you working with communities concerned about public sector uses of data, digital & AI? Do they want to make their voices heard?
We're hosting an unconference, with @dxw.com, @projectsbyif.bsky.social and @adalovelaceinst.bsky.social in London on 20 March.

I assume that I'm behind on this and stuff is already happening, but does anyone know where and who by?
It makes me think about how cultural organisations and museums, as gatekeepers to knowledge, might collaborate with communities to inform AI’s development in ways that address the current bias and colonial nature of research and collections.
I just read this thought-provoking piece on feminist AI from Catalyst Network. It raises some important questions about bias, power, and who gets to shape the future of technology. The case study on Chayn’s "nothing for us without us approach" is inspiring.
Academics, Authors, Artists in the UK here is a CRUCIAL #DigitalFriday task - the govt's consult on AI use of our hard work ends 25 Feb. It's deliberately intimidating but here's a guide to filling in the 9 crucial questions (u don't have to answer it all!) againstthebox.substack.com/p/time-to-ha...
