Sequencing to all of this feels very curious indeed. Iran was always on the hitlist but the US was not there when the people took to the streets because of Venuzuela. I first suspected incompetence but oil provides just as coherent an explanation

I'm not usually one for 'it's all about oil' conspiracies but atm all the revenue from Venezuela crude is going into an unmonitored Trump controlled account in Qatar and so it's not just the Russians who are benefiting from higher prices if you know what I mean πππππ
Benjamin Netanyahu and Vladimir Putin.
Right when Russia is squeezedβ¦
So Iran now has, perhaps for the first time, information about the location of our most sensitive covert sites in the region.
A completely foreseeable, unnecessary consequence of unnecessary war with Iran.
Crikey just seen it. Wild. www.express.co.uk/news/politic...
What?! Whereβs it from?
Phew. Those of us who feared that Donaldβs Iranscapades was all spectacle and no strategy can sleep easy tonight
Is the odour with you now Sean?

Sure you could watch Alexander Armstrong hoof his way round India to pay his kids' private school fees, or........ www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkN3...
True dat
If you want to watch a masterclass in judgement, how to defend an imperfect first instance decision and bringing life, humour and humanity to an area of law that can feel like wading through treacle then look no further than Seanβs argument in Element. Matchless stuff
Too kind sir: and right back atya in Element
"There is an alternative way forward: being True β not Blue β Labour. True Labour doesnβt fear those who are different. Instead, it demands everyone contribute their abilities to society β and works to unlock such skills."

The post mortem of 2024 is a classic in only acknowledging the top line result, rather than thinking what par would have been for the starting position. Hemorrhaging votes in solid Labour areas should have been a massive warning light.
Thank you for speaking out on this Tony. A credit to the Labour movement: and your former profession. Keep fighting the good fight
I agree with the Home Sec that Labour values include fairness, tolerance (inclusion), and patriotism.
But these values donβt mean we should threaten to forcibly remove refugees who have lived here lawfully for 15 or 20 years. That breeds fractured communities.

And allowing migrants to *work* sooner rather than later is even more popular. The HS is way out of touch with the PLP, Labour members, voters and economic reality. It will not hold
What the regulator really needs is a well placed incisor to leak information. A molar, if you will
They may not like the regulator extracting information but private practices will just have to grin and bear it. Understand there is an initial press conference at 2:30
Jansen Ganesh is on fire in this column on the UKβs role in the Iran conflict

BREAKING: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calls for an investigation into Jeffrey Epsteinβs alleged foreign intelligence ties.
"Mr Speaker, as @GIGACHAD_1776 said to me on X yesterday"
Aside from Badenochβs abject unseriousness, at what point did βorcs and goonsβ become Parliamentary language?
An economically, politically and morally bankrupt strategy.
Bad for individuals, bad for families, bad for businesses, bad for public services, bad for integration and cohesion.

So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:
- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.
Fire Mahmood.
Sobering to think that we would have joined a reckless war in the middle east over the weekend had Badenoch or Farage been PM.
And we would be refusing to embrace an energy transition away from reliance on a deeply unstable region.
Starmer's sobriety definitely an asset in the last few days.
Itβs her world historic combination of insanity, racism, incompetence and arrogance that makes me like Kemi so much
