have y’all read The Cruel Gods series tho? i read The Thirteenth Hour at a time when i was really struggling to read and write and it was just SO GOOD that it broke through. unique world-building, amazing characters, cannot recommend highly enough. go read, thank me later 🥰

Information about HR 7661, the "Stop the Sexualization of Children Act," which is actually a national level book ban targeting any book that "involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism," which means any book about being trans or with trans characters. The list of reps given in the skeet are shown, and talking points for the call are: It is egregiously unconstitutional, targets ideas based on ideological disapproval, and misleads parents and the public about the content of children's books. It does nothing to protect kids and will likely harm education. It will tie school material funding into knots and hurt anyone who is a library materials vendor, regardless of content. Also, if you are a bookseller, librarian, or author, tell them your livelihood depends on the next generation of readers.

An action request from me and @authorsabb.bsky.social: Some info for folks about HR 7661, the national book ban wrapped in the guise of protecting kids. Reps sponsoring the bill and who EXTRA need their constituents to yell at them are in the image and the reply to this skeet.

i was very fortunate to have a dad who was a computer programmer in the 90s so we never had consoles but we had Many Computer Games

i admit i have struggled with the going back and doing the old ones with the old graphics 😅 but i adore the FFVII remakes (and actually saw Advent Children before ever i played any of the games!) and even played their original mmo ffxi for a while

i did a whole pharaoh/cleopatra play through a year or so ago. then moved onto emperor rise of the middle kingdom last year! such good gaaaaaaames

9 very important games to me. half old half newer. and yea that’s ff12 not because it’s the best but because it was the first i played—my entry point into all things final fantasy. my childhood was pretty much built on lucas arts games and city builders…
