I agree! I live in the north side of Lake Forest Park, and I wish there is better pedestrian and cycling safety. I frequent Third Place Commons 2-3 times a week, and I prefer not to drive there except during rainy or intense cold days. The infrastructure needs to change.

Within its borders, the Council unanimously approved 2 construction contracts for a combined total $287,353 to build an odor-controlling enclosure and install an air scrubber at the Edmonds Wastewater Treatment Plant.
No one except city staff & one reporter remained during this hearing.
Edmonds residents at March 3 meeting suggested Lynnwood move its wastewater plant & handle sewage in its own borders. One person suggested the Lynnwood Golf Course as a potential location. Some residents even proposed Edmonds pull out of the agreement altogether.

Looking at the streets on Google Map, it's a lure for dumbasses to race & speed. If we want to reduce or eliminate this crap, the infrastructure should change to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists, like in parts of Europe.

I've been using this in the last 24 hrs mostly for work. As a journalist, sometimes I have to dig up old stories from our sites. Google & Bing have NOT been showing our content in the last several months, & it wastes my time.
So far w/ Kagi, I no longer have to search much to find what I need.

Researchers in 1990s tested mechanical theories & found that stretching increases stretch tolerance w/ little physical change to muscle extensibility and muscle structure.
Weppler & Magnusson also attributed a person's subjective sensation to the elongated muscle feeling.
Stretching theories have been leaning away from a mechanical perspective to a mix of neural, psychosocial, behavioral & structural factors in past 30+ yrs.
In 2010, Weppler & Magnusson proposed a "sensory theory" in addition to existing mechanical theories.

The researchers concluded that correlation btwn sitting posture and back pain was weak, and that the upright posture was not something that could be said to be a fit for every person. Details in link above.
Gender, BMI, & activity levels also contribute to likelihood of having back pain. The study did find some evidence that more upright postures could still have positive impacts on quality of life, like emotional state, motivation, productivity and some cases back pain.
A 2009 cross-sectional study from Curtin University examined relationship btwn sitting posture & physical, psychosocial factors in 1,500+ teens. They found association of back pain & posture was complex & heavily influenced by negative thoughts & self image.

Council President Nick Coelho shared what City Council did during the annual Council Summit last Saturday, including becoming more financially literate & addressing transportation infrastructure, homelessness. CMs also summarized their experiences serving as liaisons to internal & external groups.
Besides voting to cancel Flock, Lynnwood City Council authorized Mayor George Hurst to access the $620,000 fund to build affordable housing at Lynnwood’s regional growth area.
This includes a 50-unit that is close to the city's light rail station.

Don't know what Lynwood, CA, is doing with its Flock camera system, and Google keeps pointing me to Lynnwood, WA, instead. Typical.
LPD later discovered Flock had enrolled the PD in a nationwide search feature, granting reciprocal access to the 80,000-camera network w/o city’s informed consent, Langdon said. “It was a reciprocal agreement that we were not aware of. This was not displayed or disclosed to us for quite some time.”
Just days after Lynnwood’s Flock cameras went live in late July, the department noticed a massive influx of searches of its database from out-of-state law enforcement agencies, despite only opting to share data with about a dozen neighboring departments.
City Council in January 2025 approved a 2-yr contract w/ Flock to install the cameras in high-traffic commercial areas, intended to reduce crime & help police locate suspects. The program was funded by $132,000 grant from Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority, matched by $38,000 from the city.
