spring vi - Kokuu (穀雨) - Grain rain
A last hint of winter could be felt during the first half of this period. Days filled with rain and wind, sensible colder temperatures. Then the sun demanded its space and took over, giving ladybugs, bees and other insects energy to find food and buzz around.

spring v - Seimei (清明) - Pure and clear
Skies were bright with beautiful stringy clouds. Wild bees circled around flowers of blossoming trees. Birds seemed very energetic - there was a palpable optimism to be found in nature.

spring iv - Shunbun (春分) - Vernal equinox
The time of sakura - I found it remarkable that cherry trees blossom exactly around the Spring equinox. I saw and heard the first wood larks of this year. Earthworms made use of the rainy weather and came to the surface, also on sidewalks and bike paths.
