Sticking tech into a Jaguar iPace (like Waymo) is really not the advance we think it is. Maybe when their autonomous vehicles are just the size of the person in them, and limited to 30mph, they could have a future in cities.

Cycling home
Motorist squeezes between me and the curb within 'smack the window' distance. In a hurry to endanger my life, but plenty of time to stop, get out and berate me. "Don't get in front of me again, or I'll knock you off" he shouts. 1 motorist in 100 on my commute. Disproportionate impact.
I love cycling.
But in Kirklees I will never encourage people to ride. Especially not children or vulnerable adults. Especially not women - who experience anti-cyclist nonsense *and* misogyny. In the six years I've lived here, Kirklees council have failed to make active transport easy.

TfL "unveils ambitious 5 year plan to cut congestion & transform London’s road network for the future" (see tfl-newsroom.prgloo.com/news/tfl-unv...). We think there's some good news, but far too much bad news in this plan, that talks a lot about speeding up buses, but may not do that... 1/10

To be fair, they do hide behind placards saying “bring back our buses and blue lights”. But blue light responders are relaxed because their ability to respond to emergencies has not been affected. And if this were really about buses, these politicians would support
