Networking is hard. It often feels disingenuous. But if you build community and relationships with people you actually care about, it seems like the networking can take care of itself.. from time to time. This is something I intend to continue working on.

I try to always start with clarifying questions, but sometimes they land wrong if assumptions have already been made.. or if the interviewer is totally unfamiliar with the options I'm considering.

I see a lot of Teslas in Seattle and I grimace at each. In fact, I grimace at everyone in Seattle. Except the good people of ID. There are some gems over there and they don't have it easy.
If I need a DB, I'd rather just self host the whole thing. We're small enough not to care too much about availability and latency.
I've seen a few interesting projects where a static CMS is deployed as part of the static site and MD is visually edited and committed to Github. I haven't found any that don't require a DB to manage keys. Payload CMS looks promising, but it seems like even the content depends on a DB.
I need of a tech starter kit for a small non-profit. Requirements: A few static pages, CMS, member management (200 max), payment integration, near free. Considering self-hosting. Does anything like this exist? If no, would anyone else use it if I built it?

As someone forced into Seattle by RTO mandates, I refuse to spend money there with 3 exceptions. The Green Tortoise, Cherry Street Coffee and Seattle Best Tea.
Most small businesses in ID might actually be fair game.

Is anyone else attempting to commute on Amtrak Cascades? 🤔
Amtrak is blowing up my phone, and not because of cancellations for a change. The Cascades route is gaining two new round trips. My reservation changes are inconvenient but this is great news!
I've done this exact Centralia to Seattle route because the Amtrak schedule sucks. It takes a while, and bathroom access is an issue. But definitely doable.
