MOUSEKA-GIGER [photo of HR Giger in a mouseketeer hat and holding an Oscar] ... Asย fan of H.R. Giger, I have been collecting his prints and corresponding with him for some time. So, when he arrived in Los Angeles for the Academy Awards, I wasted no time in contacting him. Enclosed is a photograph of him posing with his award for ALIEN. He had just been to Disneyland the day before, which explains the hat. As a fan of STARLOG, I would like to share this picture with the readers. Iโm sure they would enjoy seeing this Mouseka-Giger! Here is a higher-res image of H.R. Giger holding his Oscar while wearing a Mickey Mouse hat, along with better alt text:
Still reading Money, and one thing is very clear to me: people had ZERO compunctions against using hormones to "correct" people's sex to fit a preconceived conclusion. ZERO. Yet when someone chooses, everyone goes nuts.
His lawyer keeps objecting but he keeps answering...
And he keeps dodging. He refuses to say what his current understanding of DEI is. It's just... mind boggling how this guy was allowed to make the decisions he made.
This is absolutely hilarious and deserves a Veep-style TV adaptation.
It's sad to have to say that there's a difference between how the law would operate to protect other groups, and how the law does operate to (fail to) protect trans people, but that is undoubtedly the truth in Great Britain today.
Nevertheless we still must start with what the law should be. ๐
It's so ubiquitous tho... Especially frustrating with ebooks.
The purpose of these bills isn't protection. It's intimidation and erasure. And the people making these bills know this. Or at least their puppet masters do.
To be clear: this does not mean Japan was any sort of paradise for sexual minorities. Only that the stigma seen today is far from a traditional stance.
Fun fact: Japan's modern issues with same sex relationships and transness derive largely from prewar emulation of European law and post war emulation of American and European psychiatry.
To add: for a non veteran, he shouldn't be saluting, iirc. The bidens have it right for civilians and non veterans.
Men and women are not opposites, we're variations on the same theme (thanks @jessiegender.bsky.social for that line).
"Basic biology" people don't want actual biology taught because they'd quickly learn that the reality is that we run on the same genes for 99% of things, and the switches of the remaining 1% can be flipped pretty easily. This probably scares them actually.
Joe Rogan admits straight men are the real danger to women โ then blames trans women anyway

The sry gene specifically, that is.
No reason it would be. Afaik it becomes inert after masculinization during gestation. Its presence in an adult should be meaningless.
If you wondered why they have such a vendetta against trans rights, this is exactly why. It becomes a nice excuse to use to justify everything else they want to do.
Here's their theater listings. Not too many left.

Might not be in theaters now but maybe on streaming eventually?
But they're very much geared towards indoors it seems, so it'd make sense if their use cases are somewhat narrower.
Oh heck yeah. I think a lot of the cost of a phone is frankly in the camera. RISC processors are not that expensive, the OS is open source (android anyway), memory is, well... Displays are also not super expensive now. Gotta be cameras.
Please do! It was well researched, and was filled with trans talent across the board.
You can do a surprising amount with th cheapo ones too. A really good Canon ไธ็ผใฌใ can be had for like 10k yen at Hard Off probably.
Here's my review of the movie with historical background.

Indeed. Which always brings me back to the same place: what do they mean by "fairness". I've yet to hear a definition that justifies their actions.

The @iocmedia must not return toThe Humiliating Practice of Sex-Testing Female Athletes. These tests are "unethical, unscientific & discriminatory", & which were widely condemned in the past by doctors, bioethics experts & international human-rights organisations.

Pros make the big bucks for a reason. Well, maybe not big bucks. But you get the idea.
