Our A/B Connector opened 2 months ago today!
What you don't see is an all-new Baggage Handling System that was also part of this project.
The new system is able to process an more than 50% more bags per hour than the prior system leading to shorter Baggage Claim waits.

Southwest Airlines has launched daily nonstops from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport to Knoxville.
A handful of seasonal routes also resume this week/weekend.

Statement from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport regarding emergency runway repair. BWI Marshall Airport personnel have completed the urgent runway pavement repair. One of the primary commercial runways is now open. Airline operations are resuming. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our travelers and airline partners during this critical pavement repair. BWI Marshall Airport is committed to safe, reliable operations. Passengers are encouraged to check with their airlines for the most up-to-date flight status information.
Emergency pavement repair has been completed. Runway 15R-33L has reopened for airline operations.
Travelers should confirm flight status with their airline for flight-specific information.
A statement from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. Both commercial runways at BWI Marshall Airport are temporarily closed in order to complete a pavement repair. The airportβs maintenance team will work quickly in order to make the repair. The temporary closure was coordinated with the FAA tower. Safety is our top priority. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the patience of our passengers and airline partners. Our team will work to reopen the runways as quickly as possible.
Both commercial runways at BWI Marshall Airport are temporarily closed in order to complete a pavement repair.
The airportβs maintenance team will work quickly in order to make the repair.

Our Departures Level roadway is temporarily closed to allow crews to safely remove ice and snow from overhead canopies.
Drivers are being directed to use our Arrivals Level roadway for both passenger pick-up and drop-off.
