At least by now the vast majority of folk have stopped trying to theorise Trump's foreign and trade policy actions in the realisation you just have a simplistic old man with limited attention span and a priority for personal enrichment span given vast powers to meddle around.

I think this is true but also in a strategic sense, pretty clearly an Iranian victory: we threw everything at them and proved we could not dislodge them.
