61 years ago this weekend the Selma-Montgomery March and the “Bloody Sunday” Attack on the Edmund Pettis Bridge happened. Being here is a humbling reminder of how many people sacrificed so much to bring democracy to all Americans. We must continue that work.

Thanks. I was in the city for the first time yesterday afternoon for work and was surprised at the number of abandoned cars on some major streets. Anyway, I suspect your next community meeting will be about snow removal, again!

Sue, do you know if there is a reason why there are abandoned cars that still haven't been towed? It would seem that they're going to inhibit any attempt to widen streets.

The main lots are reserved for the legislators on days they're in session. The DOT lot is sometimes open, but it's hit or miss. They shouldn't be meeting if the public can't reasonably get there.

So Providence has a parking ban in effect, but the @rihouseofreps.bsky.social and @risenate.bsky.social have hearings scheduled. And neither allow virtual testimony. Got it.

It wasn't a bill. We were asking Providence DPW to do it voluntarily.

I ran a commission for Providence in 2012 that recommended implementing a system like that. It was not well received.
