2m and 1f Common Scoter from Sutton Wick, Chew, in the gloom. Also the 2f Scaup still. Nice.
From what Iβve read he was a narcissist who called it dead right on AH but dead wrong on Gallipoli. Is that fair to say? Happy to be educated.
For anyone who would like the clip (including George).
Beautiful, not at all envious π
Avalon Marshes today: 1m Ring-necked Duck on Long Drove; Spotred and Ruff at vp1 still plus a sprinkling of Sand Martins at Ham Wall. Cold! @birdguides.bsky.social
Avalon Marshes this am: 3f and 1m Scaup on Long Drove; ad & juv Whoopers on Noahβs plus 1f Goldeneye. Spotred and Ruff at vp1 Iβm told. Also 1m Ring-necked Duck still at Decoy this afternoon, and the Glossy Ibis at Catcott though elusive. @birdguides.bsky.social

Ross's Gull at Newlyn Harbour on Saturday, brilliant showing by this small Gull.
The Rossβs Gull is currently favouring the area around the Harbour mouth @birdguides.bsky.social
Glossy Ibis still at the back of the marsh at Catcott but beware, the access track is being repaired and getting in is touch and go @birdguides.bsky.social
Grey Heron at Tealham Moor
1 Penduline Tit showing nicely on Meare Heath, Shapwick. Wonder if itβs got any mates close byβ¦ @birdguides.bsky.social
Was thinking of knocking it on the head for the day, when I decided to take one more look at Pilning Wetland. Glad I did, as this Hooded Merganser had just arrived ahead of a bank of low cloud and drizzle. Needless to say, a patch lifer! Pic: @matthall95.bsky.social #ukbirding
Iceland, Little and Ring-billed around too
Somerset in the sun today: ducks galore, Bean Geese, the βDiabolicalβ Lapwing, Ring-necked Ducks, Cranes, Med Gull, Whoopers and the rather superb Red-necked Grebe. Thanks @garyboiler.bsky.socialπ and @glastobirder.bsky.socialπΊπ
Me too, Arfon - my first Beans of the winter at Greylake today π€·
13+ Bean Geese from the Greylake hides today though very distant. Also the βblackβ Lapwing. Wellies essential! @birdguides.bsky.social
Plus ringtail Hen Harrier earlier Iβm told @birdguides.bsky.social
3 Lapwings at Greylake today: plenty of proper ones, brilliant views of the impressive melanistic individual and another on the RSPB sign board. Also males of Merlin and Red-crested Pochard. Plenty of Cranes with groups either side of the road. Donβt attempt it without wellies though!!
1 drake Ring-necked Duck still at a Decoy, Shapwick but I canβt find the Green-winged Teal
The Spot Red is back at vp1, Ham Wall pretty much on schedule
Felt like early April today. Am Wigeon Noahβs, GWT & RND Decoy; Med Gulls, leucistic BHG and sum plum BHG/Med Gull hybrid with 300 Cattle Egrets and the drake Goosander at Blakeway/Westhay; Ibis, Catcott and Shelduck, Tealham; and 5 Redshank VP1. A good day though I didnβt see all these myself.
1 Ring-necked Duck still at Decoy, Shapwick (but not 2). 2 Med Gulls and a striking leucistic BHG at Blakeway, Westhay earlier.
A rare run-out for my phone-scope adapter with minimal success. Juv WTE from the road to the NW of Westhay NNR earlier today. Metal rings on both legs, the left including a β6β. Best I could doβ¦ Seeing it down to 30m was special.
Bonapartes, Mediterranean, and black headed gull off Tolcarne Beach Penzance today. @cbwps.org.uk
If you havnt seen the new Melania film yet (god help you if you have) then listen to Mark Kermode who has. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTyU...
The Green-winged Teal is showing distantly at Decoy, Shapwick, and a Bittern just boomedπ @birdguides.bsky.social Also 1 distant Ring-necked Duck though I bet thereβs another lurking out there somewhere
