Pink background with book covers for February reading wrap up. 8 books. Jane Eyre, An American Beauty, Wide Sargasso Sea, The Covenant of Water, The Book Thief, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Broken Country, and It's Not Summer without you.
February reading wrap up #booksky
I read the entirety of The Book Thief in less than 24 hours today, on the last day of my week long vacation from work. I think I need a 2nd vacation now to emotionally recover from it. An absolutely devastating masterpiece. #BookSky
I am so obsessed with both of these covers. Also, there is never a bad time to reread Jane Eyre.
I don't know who needs to hear this but never buy a Samsung refrigerator when you're forced to fridge shop. The absolute worst fridges and customer service. And then, to top it off, they'll send a tech to your house to "fix it" who will actually break it worse ๐
There is a repair man here for my (less than 3 year old) fridge. He visibly cringes every time my stressed out dogs bark so I shut myself and all 4 dogs off in a room and turned up the Eras Tour film so they wouldn't hear him in there working. Hope he likes Taylor Swift more than he likes dogs ๐
I know this will probably be unpopular and that's okay.
I've been a Taylor fan since Debut. I have loved her through all of her eras. All these unnecessary physical variants from TLOAS are absolutely out of control and each new one that drops is making me less of a fan.
When a new cozy game that you've been looking forward to for months finally releases right at the same time that you get deeply invested in the book that you're reading
Final Review of Jane Eyre - โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ My only regret is having waited so long into my life before reading it. Easily in my top 5 books ever. Such deeply immersive writing. I did end the final chapter still firmly of the opinion that Mr. Rochester ain't shit and Jane deserved better though. #Booksky
You absolutely should ๐ It is just sooo good.
I challenged myself to read at least 10 of the classics this year and am already a 2 books down and halfway through the 3rd on that challenge. But why did no one warn me that reading Jane Eyre would alter my brain chemistry in such unexpected ways? The Bronte sisters were just phenomenal. #Booksky
January 2026 books read list with covers showing. Books are Address Unknown, Talking as Fast as I can, The Marriage Portrait, The Third Gilmore Girl, The Women, Rebecca, Sunrise on the Reaping, All That Life Can Afford, The Social Graces
January 2026 reading wrap. #Booksky
The snow outside my house is as tall as 2 of my dogs now. It's the most snow we've had in over 20 years. People around here can't drive in the rain so there is 100 cars stranded on the interstate currently. The national guard is having to help clear it.So clearly we're handling it well ๐

Book cover for Address Unknown by Katherine Kressman Taylor.
My 10th book of January was Address Unknown by Katherine Kressmann Taylor. Technically a Novella but it packs a real punch in 64 pages. Heavy subject matter but recommended #booksky
Me reading a book synopsis and realizing that a book set in 1995 is now considered historical fiction.....
Thunder ice?! High potential of not having power when it's gonna be 3 degrees outside? I need these weather folks to just pull all these bad weather vibes back out of the world. No thank you.
But, for real though.... stay safe and warm if you're in the path of this winter storm, internet friends.
7 books down so far in 2026 feels like a good start to the year... even if everything else is on fire. #booksky
Finished Rebecca by Daphe Du Maurier tonight. I did not go into it expecting to end up as obsessed with it as I am. What an absolute ride that was. #booksky

My controversial take of the week is that I think anyone caught up the whole "conformitygate" stranger things conspiracy needs to touch grass ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I hope you know I'm stealing this explaination ๐คฃ
Did I make an internal agreement with myself to read less smut this year? Yes. Did I still join a morally grey books book club at my local used bookstore. Also yes.
I'm up to 3 books for 2026 but they haven't been short at all. Maybe I should try this to add a few more lol

Started reading Hamnet late last night and couldn't put it down. Finished the entire book in less than 24 hours and it immediately became my book of the year for 2025. If you haven't read it and historical fiction is your jam, I highly recommend it. Beautifully written. #booksky
