Squash and stretch example on a face

Squash and stretch sack drawing exercises showcasing different expressions such as dejected joy etc.

Here’s some quick pictures off of Google to show the basics, if you’d like I can try to find my actual exercises and prompts I did in my classes, anyways it’s rather basic but I hope this helps!

Sorry it’s a very animator take on things hahaha but a starting exercise of squash and stretch is a pillow or sack, you draw it in various exaggerated ways it also helps convey emotions without facial expressions, I can do a more in depth thread on it if you’d like but I’ll show some pics below 👇

For case studies personally Milt Kahl and even looking at Ace Attorney’s character animations is good! For exercises it’s mainly playing with squash and stretch
