Completely agree, that blue sky is full of rational users who often completely disagree.

The difference between here and other places perhaps is this is an echo chamber of rationality?

This might result in more far-right governments because the US military is so indoctrinated with right wing infotainment news cable channels?

But isn't this really evidence that legacy media is near its death except for the boomers watching?

Like barely half of Gen X watches any of this crap anymore. The numbers start completely falling off from the millennials down to gen z.

Don't watch?

Independent Media is pretty much the future?

I always loved the story that Bob heard Loveless, on tour solo in UK, from My Bloody Valentine and then in short order he gave us Sugar.

I also love that so many rockers reference Bob and his career in their sound.

The Architect

The Architect

The problem is choice.

Duverger's Law: first over the line, winner take-all, plurality electoral systems only result in two political parties.

We need a proportional representative based electoral system at every level.

In the meantime vote for anyone remotely opposite of those in power

I spent 4 months on Facebook back in '08.

University friends and extended family left my mouth on the ground.

I even tried to engage w/them asking "what happened?".

Too often their 'friends' would jump in and attack my question before they did...a giant enabling of self hate projected on to all

Sr. year in HS we would just make up lyrics to this legendary, essential shoegaze dream pop masterpiece.

"...Heaven or las Vegaaaaaass, oh my bumba-bumba-bum-bumblebeeeeee!" 🐝🐝🐝

Super dope LP...always a rival for me vs Loveless (My Bloody Valentine ❤️)!

I find it interesting the number of tech founders who dropped out of University early. Their greed and contempt for other people. Perhaps could have been tampered down had they just taken some humanities classes?

Screenshot of a data visualization titled “The Cost of American Exceptionalism,” subtitled “What would change if the U.S. matched the OECD average?” The page explains that each card shows how outcomes would change if the U.S. matched the average of 31 peer democracies. Below, a section labeled “Economy & Inequality” displays eight cards comparing U.S. figures to OECD averages. Highlights include: +$19K per household per year in redistributed income and +$96K in redistributed wealth if the top 1% matched OECD shares; a 71% lower CEO-to-worker pay ratio (from 354× to 101×); 50 million more workers with union coverage; 26 million more people with health insurance; $2.1 trillion saved annually in healthcare spending; $691 less per person per year in prescription drug costs; and intergenerational economic mobility being twice as high. Each card shows the U.S. value alongside the OECD average.

If there's one empirical insight I'd want everyone to understand about American politics, it's this:

America's problems are solved problems. Just not here.

What would change if the US simply matched the average of 31 peer democracies? Not Denmark or Norway. Just the middle of the pack. 🧵

Dexter-ized Beatles sucks. Even the recent remaster of this sound awful.

UK / German OGs for the win (& of course the mono box).

Oasis tour just dominated Earth in like 4 months.

And this time around they even won us Yanks over, fair and square.

I would watch their trajectory from here forward as an indicator of the future of rock concerts. 🧐
