It seems crazy to start like this, but this is all about some stupid business software. Not to bore you with the details but I worked at [REDACTED], which our boss Reinhard started over twenty years ago. He treated it like it was his baby. But it was the international product team that helped that baby start earning real money. We were all foreigners except for Eve. Her, Zeynep, Pavel, Milo, Geanie. Those guys are all fucking superstars in my eyes.
Our early successes in Italy and [non-EU country] meant Reinhard was soon making enough money to stop coming into the office all the time. He stopped caring how we got our work done, and as a result we flourished. In German it's called 'psychologische Sicherheit, psychological safety, Our team had loads of it and that's probably how we got lulled into what happened. I really have no excuse because I should have been more vigilant. I was stuck in Germany in ways the others weren't. Not having one of the 27 EU passports meant I couldn't just start a new life in another European country like they all could. It was something the others couldn't appreciate, except maybe Zeynep. Not having that passport was my golden cage the last fifteen years. I see that now.

My first novel in 15 years is finished! It took me 10 months to write & I’ll be publishing an e-book/printed books via Amazon in the next month so others can partake. It’s an #antifascist novel that takes place in Liverpool, Istanbul, Genoa, Tallinn and Freiburg. #books here is the prologue …
