God, the *problems* of how BBC balance has been contorted into legitimising attention-hungry contrarianism. I vote for there to be a new, in-between category of "not that bothered actually", where someone who's not that bothered has to be included in every incendiary news package.

Honestly, no. Your job is primarily to listen. It’s actually the most effective action you can take and by doing that, you’ll learn what you need to talk about or look up later to learn more.

Hello, I’m a community organiser who doesn’t read the news much.

I organise actions with volunteers. I train them to have important conversations. I identify trends within these connections.

But I don’t read the news that much.

If you can’t take the onslaught, take action instead. Volunteer!!!

My nephew has just entered the phase of drawing people as faces with arms and legs. And I love this moment of perception when that’s what we are.

And in prep for one of these events, I just had a yarn for an hour with Black Fern #16 Carol Hayes.

Telling me the story of rugby in the South and I really am going to have to do that NZ women’s rugby oral history project at some point already.
