That’s because those types of people look at animals as if they are decorative objects, I know many cases where a bird will just exist solely in its cage. It’s super depressing, I have a lot of exotic animals that live up to 30 yrs, iirc that’s around the same lifespan as birds. Many forget that too

I feel like this could be said for any animal, animals deserve long term commitment and responsibility no matter what. Many unfortunately will impulsively jump into animal ownership without doing a lick of research on their specific husbandry needs and requirements, it’s super unfortunate.
